Did you see the '4 Days with Team HRC' video?

TG talking about a (uphill) set of doubles (or a double set of them - well, something bloody fearful as it was Maggiora), that he was just doing conventionally, then him having Chiodo, the mad old bastard, jumping over him, doing it / them in one. Woohoo

Now, certainly TG and others would have done them without a problem, post haste the next lap of practice (or the race?), but to see the World Champion a little bit wide eyed, and chuckling about Old Man Chiodi's bravado, was a hoot. Cool

Watch out for the next one in Cavallara, proper italian hard pack hill track.

I think the reasons for not having MXGP in a lot of these track are a mainly logistics and economics.

Some of these tracks are great, and used to host international races, but while the MXGP expanded and there are always more rigs and infrastructure to put up, the tracks have still the same parking area etc.
Sure maybe some will have had improvements in facilities but then you also have to consider what is around the track like how far the airport is and how easy it is to access.

Then you have the costs. Races like Mantova, Arco di Trento, Imola, and I think even Faenza last year were sponsored by the regions, from what I understand the track owners or organisers need to pay $$$ to host the race, and the sum is high enough that between the crowds not being as big as they used to, and the risk of bad weather, it is quite hard to host a race without a sponsor that forks the cash or part of it.

And these are quite near airports and main roads, have cities nearby and facilities like restaurants etc.

I know a track, not 100% sure on which one so I'll spare details, was hit hard financially pre 2010, after a race with bad weather and low attendance.

I love this track . They use to use it in the 90s for gps . There loads of amazing tracks especially in Italy and France that were on the championship that they never go to any more . Its really sad .

Holy crap and everyone said you can‘t win these days against the 4strokes...

Well he was 2.7 seconds slower in R1 and 3.1 in R2. He was around the speed of Phillipearts in R1 and barely as fast as De Bortoli in R2

I remember watching the Moto Vision video of the 250 GP there in 1994. Looked amazing then and still does now. Imagine a GP at that place full of spectators...

What do you think about Lapucci on the Fantic Adam? Have you been to the races? I’m starting to develop wet dreams about a 2stroke on top in EMX250... am I realistic?

Almost a holeshot by Jimmy Clochet on the new Beta against the Champ. It's looking like the engine program is working out well.

ESR325 is he related to you?
You gotta admit he tells a very interesting story, winner of the two-stroke championships and qualify for the MEC on a two stroke, and a big bore at that. Something like that should cause a meltdown at Vital.

If he's beating guys like Längenfelder and Hofer, surely he should be among the favorites for EMX250

I was at Maggiora, but not Montevarchi but I will say that Lapucci does have some pedigree in the EMX250 as he won a round in Russia in 2018... so he's definitely fast enough

however, its very early to tell and these Italian races mean different things to different teams/riders... the schedule has them racing until October and there is very little point to peaking in May and fading when the series is in full swing. The EMX250 is always fun to watch, 2-stroke or not, so the Fantics will just make it a little bit better Smile

PS. i'm not Adam
