Came across this video in the morning. What a gnarly crash, it appears that the rider is in general terms "ok". Pala must do something about this to try to avoid anyone wanting to send that jump.

Lol “pala must do something”, give me a break dude not all of us want a nani holding ours hands through life. We’ve already got the government regulating the living hell out of everything, the last thing anyone needs is more rules riding your dirtbike.

Dude went for it on an 06 crf450, much respect for that send!

Not discrediting the rider for going after it, guy has nerve. But as in the past other members have stated how long until someone gets seriously injured and sues the track ending up closing the facility. The best way to cut that risk is Pala putting something to block the long straight before the take off. Just my opinion

|

7/14/2019 8:14 AM

if this is being attempted as part of a lap then I guess it's crazy but okay.

If this is being attempted by coming from way off the track then it's reckless and the track operator should put a stop to it.

|

JFC...

If the rider would have come to a stop as quickly as that bike, he would be far from "okay".

While each rider is responsible for his/her decisions, tracks may want to consider the consequences bad decisions can have on other riders. If the Pala jump is routinely cleared by Pro/A riders, then it should remain (hopefully Pala has sesssions based on skill level). However, if it's simply a "huckfest" obstacle, then maybe alterations are in order.

Dude had huge balls. But dear god don’t even mention talk related to tort/negligence, please. That makes my skin crawl as much as watching this kid basically almost kill himself.

That's the one Josh Hill did a while back, right? NOBODY is doing that one as part of a regular lap. It's start from way off the track and full send.

Silly.

Hope he is OK. Looked ugly.

|

7/14/2019 8:38 AM

Yikes . Was that his first attempt or had he been hitting it all day and missed a shift or ?

Damn that's brutal. Since he's apparently ok, I guess we can make fun of him for living up to his moniker.

Thought for sure there would be spoke skins on that bike

I was one of the guys that said random dudes would start trying these. First thing I thought when I saw this video last night was, “I called it.”

I watched a few and thought the same thing!

Anyone that didn’t see this stuff coming from people with nowhere near the skill level needed is stupid.

Shouldn’t be allowed to cut the track (a lot of it) at full speed. You want to go the distance head to the dunes. When you can link those jumps on a single lap you’ll be remembered until then its Hills and already been done.

Was quite evident he didn’t have the speed before the launch, he should have known, but he had painted forks so maybe not.

No. This is what happens when people have nowhere near the skill needed and a bike that has too much power.
