How is it that we can’t get the gnarliest track on the west coast back on the schedule? Pala really doesn’t even come close to replacing GH.
Sad; but, true.
The Shop
I was lucky enough to race Carlsbad for a lot of years, and Glen Helen with its ridiculous steep up and downhills, sand and huge bumps is so much harder than Carlsbad ever was on its worst day.
It is a shame that a national is not held here, it sure looked like one yesterday with virtually every top pro rider going balls to the wall all day.
On a level of difficulty, Fox/Pala is 11.ask Dean wilson
In addition, the track is on Tribal land, so MX Sports can be assured that the events will go off.
Would glen Helen be a better choice if there could only be one national in so cal? Yes.
But Pala is a mean Motherfucker in its own right, the riders will be tested there.

Eli should be remembered forever in moto history just on that streak.
Went to Hangtown that year as well, the track layout is on elevated dirt so you can see most of the action from anywhere in the viewing area.
All this gnarliest track in the world is moot if the owner won't sign up for big races. Plus, it's the same track for everyone..... if the purse is good enough, I bet most pros would race around a Walmart parking lot.
GH - San Bernardino county - sewer
The tracks may not compare but the experience at Pala he’s the potential to be much better based on its location
Who doesn't enjoy the lush scenery of the Glen Helen area - The multiple Amazon warehouses, the Lovely run down Denny's on the corner, the test track where they teach San Berdoo cops how to wreck their cars, or best of all the Women's prison at the end of the road to the track.
Experience the culture and beauty of the inland Empire, Bro...
There probably will be a GH national when Bud wants one enough or he goes away, which is unlikely.
