It also needs your shot of Everts at I believe Lierop, Jeff, that one I like so much. That's one of my favorite "this is motocross" shots!

Yep, that's Lierop.
But like you sid earlier in this thread; not very cool to post your own pics as the best MX pics ever.
Here it is anyway. Smile

RV chasing that old demon who lives out on the edge.

Love that movie reded; almost as good as the book it's based upon.

From that angle, that take out looks even worse.
there are many stunning PR pictures but they don't tell a story
only musquin's picture has esthetic value the rest historical imo

Old pieces of crap? Hah! Find me another bike that looks this good. This thing doesn't even need a rider to be considered in the greatest pics of all time. 63 horsepower ready to roost.

Can almost smell the bean oil. So cool.

Roddy MacLeod's pic of Namur has to be in this thread.

My personal all-time favorites, at least from the old days, are a toss up between the magoo hole shot at the MXdN (Burnicle shot I think) and one from the cover of Cycle News after the 78 race, at Gaildorf maybe), that was right after the start. Taken across a valley, the pack had swept around a large tree and was heading down hill, with Hannah leading on his yellow OW and Mikkola on his tail on his white OW heading the rest of the pack, with a huge crowd lining the track. Great color and scope. Wish I had a copy of it for sure.

Okay, here's a couple I always feel good about when I'm going through my own work. They probably all been up here a bunch already. None...
Okay, here's a couple I always feel good about when I'm going through my own work. They probably all been up here a bunch already. None are best of all time, and one or two have any real historical significance.

I've always really liked this one of RC exploding out of the back at Washougal in 04.

07 start of the season

There's a JLaw image like this, but I think I've grown to like this Stroupe one attacking the sand at least as much

My guess for that pic would be Sears Point. Very nice pics FTE

Yup, Sears Point for sure.
Damn, if only that course was still in use. A lot of that got paved over when the track and parking lot were expanded. Sear Point is now called "Infineon." I flew over it recently and it looks like there's still plenty of undeveloped rolling hills on the property. If the management had the desire...

Perhaps not the greatest MX pic of all time, but damn sure worthy of an honorable mention!

There are some sweet photos in this thread. I can't say I have a favourite of all time - there are simply too many great pictures out there. It is also wrong to compare photos from different era's, IMO.

That said, I have always thought this one was cool:

That track looks like the Washougal of Europe
