One of my National Pro riders called me up... we were talking about his program for this summer.

Now, just relax... but this is what he told me... and he heard it from someone else..

Only these particular bikes... a '95 or older KX250, or RM250 2 stroke is eligible for the Lites class.

I told him it was probably bad info... as this is an ongoing war...maybe one of you would like to investigate?

The rulebook is only 23 pages long. If people can read, they can find out all the answers they want.

2010 AMA MX rulebook

So to answer the question. NO loophole.

3.1 (A) 250 class 0-125CC's 2 stroke/ 150-250cc 4 stroke.

Yeah, I just looked it up.

I was suprised... I thought they changed it to 150cc for the 2 stroke a few years ago.

Sir, I concur. That yellow disaster was almost the death of me.

I remain unperturbed by the joy and the madness, I encounter everywhere I turn.

the loophole he is thinking is this.

All 2006-2009 motorcycles previously approved and still suitable under the current rules for Motocross /
Supercross are eligible.

what is assumed is that a 2005 bike or older approved for a certain class is legal..... that would so be stopped so fast never have a chance to make it to the track.

I have seen many 250F's beating 250 smokers this year, so I of course don't think it's a big deal......but then I am not trying to gouge the shit out of riders with a pricey product.
