Ben Lamay wore them in the Nationals after he jumped up from the Amateur ranks last season.

I've got a pair and think they're great. There is no break in time at all and if you have bad ankles or feet, they are a must have I think.

agreed no beak in period and they work well. i wore them occasionally till i got Sidi Crossfires, now my Scotts are collecting dust and i sold or gave away most of my Fox Boots.

I don't know, but Ferry pulled through once again for U.S.A and it seems like he never gets the credit he deserves. Give a cover in a magazine, at least.

There may not be much break-in needed, and all that plastic may offer some decent protection, but they are still fugly as hell.

Decent boots, just the toe area is too damn thick.. if it was thinner they would be MUCH better. Techs 10's work awesome for me.

Is there positive stops to limit fore and aft movement? I have had a few times that my sidi's and tech 10's have allowed my ankle to bend to far fore or aft and resulted in a sprain which takes months to heal. Also i like all the plastic which seems like it would prevent foot injury if the bike falls on you're foot, usually the foot peg hits you right in the ankle!

If they hold up and are comfortable they should be the best thing out there and if thats so who gives a shite about looks? We are racers not fashion models..

I liked them when I tried them, and I happen to think they look cool too.

I tryed them out at a demo day they had at Milestone awhile back. I did like 5 laps and couldn't get my SG10's back on quick enough. I hated those things. Heavy, could barely move, and soles so think I felt like I was standing on the seat. Have they changed them at all since last fall?

I'll give em one thing though, my foot and ankle did feel pretty damn safe in them.

are they actually heavier or just seem that way because of the storm trooper look? Also could you shift properly and move all you needed to when riding? I am not concerned about walking the pits or off road pushing in mud etc.

They were heavy. They look it and feel it. I couldn't feel really anything through the soles. Braking was hard and accidental down shifting happened quite a few times. The toes are really thick so I was just using the edge of the boot to shift up. This tryout was awhile ago though so they very possibly could have addressed these issues by now. Although the boot still looks identical in the pictures.

So is the leverage transfered to the knee in these boots just like the old boot? Ankle and foot is protected but the knees take a beating. Now you'll have to fasten the knee brace to the boot like CTI does for us bum kneed skiers. Now if only they had somethnig for the hip........and so on.

Old Scott boots = cool vintage
New Scott boots = I'd rather be kicked in the nuts with them than be seen wearing them.
