Maverick:
I'm limited to a 'phone at the moment, and am having a hell of a time trying to find the capacity class rules for the MXDN.
If you can, could you put up a
Direct link to the specific PDF / whatever it is, that has the exact capacity / machine eligibility rules?
If , somehow the old MX3 rules applied - but I sure as hell doubt it, with the 250F /450F oriented rules (meaning that the class title of "Open" is just so much
bullshit ) of today - there'd be the chance for usage of up to 500cc 2ts, and up to 650cc 4ts.
Heck, I'd love to see a 'Boomer' (the 650cc or thereabouts 4t engine) in a modern frame, just as much as a 500cc 2t.
For a 2t - Just think - one of those BRC KTM500 Kits (though it would have to have a tad smaller piston, as they are 510cc) in a modern chassis, under say Sipes, would be quite the 'thing' to behold.
Not withstanding all of this - anyone that has read my posts over the years, regarding the Puerto Rican team being a potential US 'B' team, will know my view on it. And it's not in favour of it.
Other countries Riders (and their backers) stopped doing this years ago, and it should be stopped completely. There's a
Lot of other countries (with 'Territories and Dependencies) that Riders and their backers could do this, yet, thankfully, they don't. Of course, now with the whole doing it for charity angle, it can bring howls of ''you bastard, you don't care about PR's suffering''. It will be interesting to see what aid funds
do come of this.
PS:
**** Well, whilst I was Bear Pawing at a miniature keyboard, Queen of Spodes put something up. So, the 'Open Class' name, really is just Bullshit, and it's still all set up for the 250F/ 450F Handicap Class Rules...............
