it was brought up on the pulp show last night. i dont recall his exact words so dont quote me on this, but keefer said something to the effect of someone sent him some stuff & what they sent showed plans to have buildings built where milestone is. ive always wanted to ride there so if its true its unfortunate. especially for the people that live near by

I have spun well over 2000 laps at Milestone over a 15 year period. God I hope this isn't true. It's a fantastic track, great dirt, and only 40 minutes from my house on a weekend morning! I always assumed it was safe because it's in the flood plain and no lender would extend CRE credit.

There has already been threads on this matter and links to the "Build to Suite" Real Estate posting. Yes it looked like the property was for sale to be built up as industrial building. Who knows when, Carlsbad was for sale and sold but the place was open for I think 10 years after it was sold before they developed it.

Not sure if my intel is true, but I heard the present owner was sick of people complaining and issues and it just was not worth the grief and something about a family member used to ride but no longer does????

As a track owner you have to know you can't please everyone. Piru was a prime example of this. Place was good at times, sucked at times but ultimately the owner decided to shut it down to the public because of the complaints. Track sat vacant for years and finally sold and now it's gone forever.

Criticism should be expected. Maybe listen to all the complaints and praises and find middle ground someone. Ya, you'll never please everyone, but you can listen to everyone and get close enough!

Makes me curious about the status of PerrisMX. I noticed the swap moto races series has no races at MilestoneMX or PerrisMX in the month of May. Oh well, longer drives but at the moment we’ll still have LACR Cahuilla Fox GlenHelenMX. Gonna have to work on my old old desert practice tracks.

It was Mosier Valley, not Lake Whitney. Both were epic tracks. Mosier had the best night track, ever. Lots of good memories for me at both of those tracks.

That and Carlsbad back in the day (rode it for the first time on the closing weekend) are the biggest heartbreaks I've had. Shit, I even miss El Cajon MX at times.

Mosier Valley is now part of the city dump. The trailer park in front of it was not part of the track. Thank Jerry Surber for the closure of Mosier Valley.
