Is he running where everyone thought he would? Really thought he would have some top 10's.. no way he's gonna be ready to run 30+2 outdoors

His endurance doesn't seem to be getting any better. You'd think it would as the season goes on. Hopefully he's training for the outdoors but then again I was hoping he was training for SX.

He's pretty much where I expected him. You can win heat races and semis on speed alone. You need to have the speed, endurance, fitness, desire, will power and patience to win mains and championships. Malcolm having only 1 of those elements (speed) is why he can't finish higher in the mains. Most people have been saying this all along.

He started out pretty much like i expected(plenty of speed but bad fitness). The problem is that there has been very little(almost none) progress.

I can't see how he is going to get a factory ride with a good salary for 2018 with these results and no outdoor racing.

With a healthy field 10-15 place guy,. The bikes not holding him back. Nothing wrong with top 20 in sx with the world's best.

No not at all. He has the speed to run too pace but that only lasts for maybe 4 laps. I really thought by now his fitness would be much better than it is, but it seems he is getting in worse shape every weekend.

The Ride365 deal he has in place for now is SX only.

So unless they have figured something out for outdoors, no.

It does seem that he's very reliant on talent as opposed to fitness. Not sure what his training program consists off but he definitely needs to change it.

I thought he would have broken into the top ten a time or two by now.

Is his autograph line as long as everyone was expecting? This is the only thing that truly matters.

I expected him to get better as the season went on but he has kind of gotten worse. I think 1 or 2 top tens all year? If that? The guy has some serious skills on a bike, I just think fishing has taken priority over training and to be honest I'm not sure it's a bad thing, I don't think Mookie would do well in a boot camp type situation. He likes to have a little fun, nothing wrong with that.

I thought for sure tops 10s. Maybe even pull a top 5. Dude is fast as hell, untll he runs out of steam! He was in better shape last year. He could be a winner if he got serious. All we ever heard was wait till he gets on a 450.

I love Malcolm, big fan. I thought for sure a top 10 by now. There is most likely something up(injury wise), that us Bros don't know about.

Hopefully he's not skipping outdoors to get ready for supercross.
Didn't work out that great the last time

its hard to gauge to be honest.

a lot of the guys in 450s, have been a champion on some level or at least have won. at detroit the top 12 were within 1 second in qual. not much separates these guys and if you get a bad start or are off your game just a bit, like coming off the couch with little prep

he's about where he should be 10th-15th

I expected him to consistently be a few positions higher. Crashes have hurt him a lot but I would say he has generally shown a slight lack of fitness, but that is understandable for the most part. He didn't have a ride coming into the season.

What Malcolm proved last year is that when he does have a fully committed ride going into a season, he can be a force. If he got a 450 ride similar to that of his GEICO days, with full support of a team and manufacturer, I believe he could easily be a podium threat. Not sure what his fitness routine is, but he would also hugely benefit from having a full-time trainer. Malcolm has some major untapped potential.

I am a big fan of Mookie, and if this were the 90's he would be a podium guy on talent alone, but this is not the 90's, and todays athletes don't mess around, the level of dedication, time, and fitness (all while eating only rice and veggies) is just unbelievable!

He is finishing just like I thought he would. He could barely do 15 laps on a 250 I figured he would run top 10 and fade to the back. May be if they go to 3 - 5 minute mains he could be a contender for the first and second main.

Just like most of you, I expected way better after a while, around 8-10, with maybe a few top 6.
He's having a real tough time.
Really disappointing.
And I'm sure it doesn't make James feel any better about coming back.

I wander if his Kidneys are causing him any troubles.... His fitness seems way off, can't be mental, there is literally no pressure, or if there is, there shouldn't be.

I expected top ten for sure especially the way he started out. But like everyone else has said instead of getting better like you would think he has gotten way worse. I don't get it

I expected just inside the top ten, but his actual results don't surprise me either, if that makes any sense.
And for those who were saying he should be at RCH over Tickle and Bogle I never agreed with.
