No jive...but once the JGR money is gone so is Kelly. Pretty obvious by her posting a glamour shot on instagram, while talking about her flying...

Could do with deleting that idiotic comment also. Incredibly disrespectful to someone who clearly cares a lot about Weston.

I don’t normally listen to podcasts but made the time to sit down and listen to this one tonight. Thanks to Weston and Kelly for sitting down with Donn to do the interview. With all they have been through it is great they took the time to update everyone. What an ordeal for them. Hope he can make a full recovery and get back to racing if he wants to.

Best of luck to both of them and congrats on the engagement.

Oh and as someone who lost a job because of a family emergency she will land at a better place and be better off for it. Any company that would do that is not worth working for.

I'll probably get bashed for this and I realize the sport will always be dangerous, I would like to see NOT JUST a skid plate for protecting the under carriage of the bike, but something to smooth out the majority of the remaining parts, such as linkage... anything to help lessen the damage of getting landed on. Far fetched I know, the older I get, the more safety comes into play. Prayers and thoughts continue for WP.

This comment is many things but most importantly, inaccurate.

We can revisit this when the helmet is launched and you have more info to draw from.

I really hope his vision comes back. He said his right eye was completely black right now due to a stretched optical nerve. The doctors told him that his vision should come back. Gut wrenching listening to him as you can tell he was really putting everything into it. Man, really hope he can get back on a bike. All the metal in his face is insane. Reconstructed his eye sockets, eye brows, metal behind his right eye, metal on his forehead. He said the doctors cut away his face completely to reconstruct his bones, so his entire face is pretty much numb. No pain meds... Dude is grade A bad ass and he's talking pretty well for the circumstances. His fiancee also lost her job for sticking by him, which I agree with the poster above, if a business owner can't understand those circumstances then she is better off somewhere else, and that doesn't help the situation. Keep us updated Weston and good luck!

Show us a helmet that would survive a 450f casing a jump into it. C'mon man - 300 lbs+ of man and steel going 20mph - what will stop that? A diamond plated steel helmet probably would have helped. When is Fly coming out with those?

This! Although it's more like 440 lbs of man and steel (240 bike w/fuel, 200 rider w/gear)...nothing could protect you from that...just a freak accident...

I think the comment is horrible, which is why that user is now on the sidelines.

But occasionally I think it’s okay to leave a head on a stake to show that there are limits and consequences for posting blatantly inappropriate things.

Wow! The part where he couldn't breathe because of the cotton ball stuck in the trach tube blew me away! That must have been terrifying.

Great interview. That was everything his fans wanted to know and more.

It sounds like he has a long road ahead of him, but he sure is tough for doing it without pain pills. I know the Chuck Norris jokes about how tough Weston is are a bit old, but man, he really is tough. I hope he makes a full recovery. I could understand if he retired from racing, but I hope he doesn't.

Although theres much better helmets out there, fly helmets arent THAT bad. Also, chin guards are not going to withstand what could be 1000lbs of force applied to them. Theyre not made for that.

He was wearing a helmet you haven't really seen the tech on yet. Hard to compare to any helmet on the market just yet.

I couldn't imagine the pain he is going through but he is definitely doing it right! I broke my back and became pretty dependent on the OxyContin and muscle relaxers. I don't know how he's doing it but it is way better to never start that stuff imo.
