I really don't think Suzuki care about developing bikes for westerners.

''With Suzuki set to release a number of new models over the next few model years – including a new Hayabusa, GSX-R600, GSX-R750, and the supercharged Recursion''

I cant see any of the above appealing to the Indian market.

This is good news for Suzuki, their stagnant spell has killed off their popularity across various disciplines of motorcycling. Hopefully this new boost can get them back in the game!

Not sure why this is a surprise. It’s a big world out there and believe it or not, the US market is no longer the jewel it used to be.

Yeah for sure there is money to be made in our market and on top of that, developing those high end performance bikes and racing R&D always translates into new technology in other, low performance markets. But I was more or less posting that photo in reply to the post above mine. Forgot to quote it haha

Probably the same as the RM100. Too bad those are so hard to find because Tyler really needs a bigger bike.

The '03 RM100 is a KX100 with yellow plastic. I have a brand new, never ridden one in the garage.

Honestly I’d say I see an even amount of each brand at the tracks around here minus husky, and that’s just cuz there aren’t many dealers around here.

If the Suzuki had spring forks I would have gotten that over the yz250f.

My boy has a new Rm85, and absolutely loves it. We’ve had Yamaha yz85’s, and kx85’s. Rode brand new ktm’s and husqvarna 85’s at demo days. He’s like I just don’t get it why everyone thinks ktm, and husky are the best. His exact words were, this so called dated bike is still a ripper, and if your kid can’t ride, doesn’t matter what he’s on. My boy regularly destroy’s those so called best bikes ever made, on his old piece of shit Suzuki. We love them, and will support them, also they have the best contingency of all the manufactures. Don’t get caught up in the ktm fever. Glad we didn’t.

Suzuki has been around since the early 1900's and aren't going anywhere.

Take a look at their global site and see all the products they make. I would love it if they brought the Jimny to the US, I used to think the Samurai was cool.

Kindof funny that you can still buy a TS185 in certain markets, I think I want one!

I've heard that at this years annual meeting in April (when the fiscal year ends in Japan) one of the topics was: Are we going further with dirtbikes or not.

Bought it for the wife, soon thereafter she had to have C5/C6 cervical fusion from a 20+ year old equine related neck injury, and after a year of rehab and recovery she decided she didnt want to take chances. Add to it her L5/S1 is jacked and she is on pain management injections for that, the bike sits on a stand under a sheet.

While there are many other countries out there, the USA is still the largest economy as indicated by GDP in the world - by 30% larger than the nearest other country, China. The US is still the 800 lb gorilla. Yes there are other markets, but the US is the biggest.

I put my money where my mouth is and picked up a near new RMX450Z with RG3 suspension and Yoshi exhaust and cherry bomb EFI remap plug in. Love it. Feels as good as a 2015-16 KTM450 XC to ride with maybe a tad more weight. Not bad for a 2010 design that was also around $3000 cheaper than a comparable KTM. Doesn't slow me down and shits on WR's as a package

I got that info at the MXDN, from a Japanese who was there to talk to teams who could be interested in a deal with team. The deal was "only free parts and bikes" no help with development, no help with bringing in technical sponsors and others like Motul.

Due the fact that no team was interested and Suzuki isn't at the races any more that guy isn't at the MXGP's anymore either. So my reliable source is gone. But back at the MXDN he also told us that Suzuki already decided to do "only parts and bikes" back in April. But because they were a bit scared for the reaction from Stefan and the full team they started with saying: "MX2 needs to go" and then with only a few weeks into the season they expanded their communication with "We've no money for a team anymore but if you find a good outside sponsor we are willing to keep supporting you".

Will Suzuki keep making dirtbikes? I'm not sure, but if they're not they need to start pushing cheap little +50cc bikes for the Asian market to make their company back relevant to the world. GSX-R 125cc is a good start.
