For everyone that thinks rmatv is different, they seem to be willing to charge $20 shipping to next day a cylinder that is on backorder, I doubt they have some kind of magic that will make it appear sooner than what their website says.

Only problem I ever had with Motosport was a pretty big order around the holiday season, Tires, tubes, rim strips, couple cans of chain lube, Fox umbrella, chain, few tools....all thrown in one big box with pretty much zero packing material. Needless to say when it arrived, the umbrella was splattered with chain lube and a couple other things were messy. Holiday help isn't best help I guess and I really don't see how they get things to run so smooth in the first place. I ended up going through 11-12 employees before I found one who could wash cars and sweep the shop worth a flip. Had a few show promise but they didn't understand 8 am - 5 pm.

An e-mail with a few pics to Motosport and they hooked me up with an apology and new product. Let me keep the damaged goods as well. I wasn't in a bind for any of it and it all turned out good in the end so I'll be back to buy more when the next project hits the bench. Still have a few flood victims to resurrect.

Now, what those 'Australians' at the steakhouse did to my steak last night....that shit just wasn't forgivable. Had to break the seal on a bottle of A-1 to choke that burnt to a crisp, puck of dried meat down. F'n Aussies.Laughing

I had a small piss off that I didn’t think warranted a new thread. I do a neat thing every year for my 3 boys, I get them personalized front number plates for how old they are. I bought 3 plates from Motorsport and some jag off put their old, used KX450 front plate in acerbis packaging and passed it off as a return. Obviously that person needed the $17 more than I do. Do people really take the time to order something new, remove their roost blasted plastic, and carefully place it back into the package and send it back? Thieving bastards.

Read the OP. Skipped several pages so I'm sure it's been said, but Rocky Mountain is the way to go. They are top notch service and they ship next day without paying extra.

Here's part of an e-mail exchange I had with BTO a while back where I encountered a similar problem.

---

Me: I was needing that gear for this coming weekend but it looks like it's not going to get here in time. Your site had indicated that it was in stock (still does, actually) but I guess that was incorrect"

BTO: I am sorry it will not make it in time. Our website shows “Available” not “instock” so sometimes we need to special order items for customers.

Me: For future reference, what are "In stock" items labeled as? Available?

---

Unfortunately with BTO there is ostensibly no way to know if they actually have the item on hand or if they'll have to order it since it's marked as "Available" either way. In my experience with them, it always seems to be the latter.
I know in the case of BTO, if you are in need of something by a certain deadline just call them and a rep can tell you what they do and do not have in stock in order to meet your timeframe.

I do that with them all the time.

I was curious about this myself. Single bolt shipping across town?

I went to said steakhouse on Saturday. Sirloin came out looking like a kielbasa. Thank goodness for the casino libations because everyone at our table had a great laugh

How are you guys getting your steaks cooked? I get it cooked Pittsburgh rare (extra hard sear with rare center) at my local one and it's always perfect.

I placed an order on July 7th. It stated that my order would not arrive until the 16th, so I chose to pay an extra $25 to have it shipped UPS Next Day Air. Since the 7th was a Saturday, I knew it would not ship until Monday the 9th. Tuesday and Wednesday, no package. Today I received an email stating that it is being shipped today via UPS Next Day Air and I will receive it on the 13th.

I called to discuss it with them. I said that since it did not go out the next business day, I should be refunded my $25 for UPS Next Day Air. They explained to me that they just received it, and they are shipping it out UPS Next Day Air and I should be OK with that because I will receive the package before the 16th. I said under that logic, they could ship the item any day and as long as they shipped it UPS Next Day Air, they could say that it was next day. They responded "Yes, that is correct."

I then spoke with a manager and he said the same, any day they ship it is OK as long as they send it UPS Next Day Air and I receive it on or before the 16th. And that I would not be refunded my $25. I told them I would whine about it on VitalMX to see if it made me feel any better, and he said that was fine.

I buy some stuff online every month, moto and non-moto. Is this the standard business practice now, next day means the next day from whenever they decide to ship it? It is only $25 so not a big deal, and life goes on, but it seems like a strange policy.
By the way, Motosport is owned by Backcountry.com, the outdoor industry company.

the fact that any of you guys would GO to an Outback and expect a decent steak is pretty alarming.... LaughingLaughingLaughingLaughing

If you want a decent steak, might I suggest going to a legitimate local steak house ......one that knows how important it is to cook a steak correctly. Im a New York steak guy through and through ....Outback USED TO hhave a great New York but that was YEARS ago and I stopped going there soon as their portions shrank for the 3rd time. Used to be, their food would barely fit on the plate and the last time I went which was over 10 years ago, the plate I usually ordered came on and the portions were so small I could see real estate all over the plate. This was roughly around the time they got bought out by some larger holding company.

Anyway......moral to the story, if you want a good steak, you go to a local "Brick and Mortar" Steakhouse.....see what I did there? TongueLaughingLaughingLaughing

Ruth Chris or any steakhouse with aged steaks. I can't even eat a ribbeye unless it's aged after having one.

I've had this issue with RM and MotoSport both. It pissed me off, but I chalk it up to just remembering to look at all the info prior to clicking the 'place order' button.
If I need it quick, I usually won't order from either one of them. Part of that is because of where I live. Living in the middle of nowhere doesn't help with speedy deliveries.

I had exact the same problem with BTO the week before.

Ordered several items with 3 day delivery, and result that I had to wait until they ship from their other warehouses to put the order together.
Had to cancel it and ended up buying in another site.... and with the consequent lost time

The difference between motosport.com and BTO, is that in BTO it didn't say if the product needs more time to be shipped.

I'd say Motosport in general is a tad quicker getting stuff shipped than the other sites. Surprisingly fast from my perspective. Rocky Mountain is 2nd quickest. BTO is kind of slow imo.

So here's my recipe for success:
Fuck up any number of parts while I'm riding on the weekend. Decide I really want to ride next weekend. Go to my local dealer and bullshit about how I've destroyed a laundry list of stuff yet again. Amidst all the bullshitting, the friendly veteran parts gentleman has amassed a pile of parts on the counter. The parts he doesn't have in stock, he finds at one of his distributors. Checks the "next day air" box and gets those puppies coming. He calls and I struggle to get to the phone (the sonofabitch has a knack for calling when I'm hanging rafters) and he tells me my stuff is in. I swing by the shop, do a little more bullshitting, and I'm on my way. Lather, rinse, repeat.
Moral of the story, you'd all be a lot cooler if you went to your local bike shop.

Lol...I get the lamb chops when I go to Outback. Rare and slathered with Bearnaise sauce side of grilled asparagus. When we go out for steak...I'm looking for a porterhouse cause I'm a pig.
