This stat is sorta mind blowing because of the sheer talent both riders have but can you believe that between Adam and Austin they would have only one combined title.

If I told you eight years ago that stat you would have told me BS!! I seriously might have bet my house they would have had more combined titles.

But that’s it. Just one title. So much talent. That’s just crazy to think about.

Anyone else have any crazy, interesting, or otherwise noteable trivia?

Even more mind blowing is that i have as many as they do lol.

When you think that PC has 8 shots a year at winning a championship, it makes their drought seem worse.

And to think.. if Osborne and Savatgy had both gone down, in Vegas, AC would have had it... and if Osborne had missed, Savatgy would have had it.. for 10 seconds they had it lost it, had it again, and lost it again... that is why we race.

8 years ago I would have wondered who you were talking about when you said “Austin”, but I definitely would have been sure that Cianciarulo would have had more championships than he has......

5 years ago Austin was 250 Pro MX rookie of the year. Going back three more years he was the golden boy at Team Green. No doubt being crafted as the next champion for PC/Kawasaki. He’s got six LL titles and won 3/4 titles his last two years there.

Going back eight years he was definitely very well known and was the next sure thing for PC Kawasaki.

Time flies I guess....

But to your point about Adam, I agree with you, I would have bet he would have more then one title. It’s crazy enough to think he only has one. And then factor in Austin who has the speed and talent as well, and between those two only one single title.

I think in the last 10 years I don’t know if any one has come up the ranks with as much “can’t miss” speed and talent as Adam and Austin.

That’s sorta what makes this stat unreal because they both have amazing talent and speed. It wasn’t just hype. They have the speed and pedigree. Just a crazy series of mistakes and mishaps have cost them both.

One title between the two of them. I would have been less surprised if between the two they had 10 titles.

But nope. Just one title. That’s crazy!

RC won the title in 1998 winning all the rounds. Timmy Ferry beat RC in 1997 his rookie year in 125 SX.

Ryder Difrancesco (16) and Jett Reynolds (17) both seem like they have been around forever. But they are both getting close to be the next big thing from Team Green. Will be interesting to see how they do.

Watched Nate Thrasher over the summer literally destroy the competition at a couple races. Now to see him struggling in the back is amazing to me. Just shows how fast the competition is today.

Probably the fastest guy to not win Championships is Kevin Windham. He was always racing the likes of McGrath, Charmichael, Stewart, RV and RD. Fastest 2nd place guy ever.

Mini O's were in Homasassa Springs, FL at a track called Chicken Farm.

You raced Hare Scrambles (GNCC), TT, Flat Track and MX
If I remember right....Thursday was hare scrambles, on Friday you LITERALLY packed up for the day and drove to Ocala, FL where you raced TT during the day, flat track that night.
MX was Saturday and part of Sunday, then awards.

You rode the same bike for all events in that class. Frame numbers were registered as was engine #'s. Paint would be sprayed over head and cylinder to make sure no changes.

Before that, Mini O's started in Jacksonville, but that was short lived.

The CRF450 has only won 1 US title in its existence (RC Perfecto 2004)

RC won both the first SX title on a four stroke and the last SX title on a two stroke

Chad won at least 1 450 race a year from 2003-2013

I just listened to the 92 LA Supercross Re-racable yesterday. Weege said that 92 was the last time someone (Stanton) won the title after entering the final round behind in the points.

The first motocross race held on a race track inside a stadium took place on August 28, 1948, at Buffalo Stadium in the Paris suburb of Montrouge.

People have mentioned these separately, but I always thought this was cool:

Tim Ferry beat Ricky Carmichael to the 1997 125 East supercross championship. He is the only rider in history to win a supercross championship without winning a race in the season.

The next year, Ricky Carmichael won the 1998 125 East championship. He is the only rider to win every race in a supercross championship in history.

For MX GL only won 1 moto (not the overall) in his 2003 championship season

I hate to admit it, but I really stopped thinking too much about the amateur guys winning a bunch of LL titles equating to pro titles after the first few years of Mike Alessi’s run. Not that Mike was ‘chopped liver’, but I was more surprised about his championship title number than just about any other rider that I can think of besides Bradshaw or Pastrana.
