Certainly an interesting question. For the factory guys who don't have their own tracks though, who is actually going to let them ride a track when it is sloppy and completely tear it up and destroy it ?? That could be a big part of it, getting on a supercross track when it's muddy and been raining ?? Certainly surprising that someone like James Stewart would be concerned about destroying a practice bike. Isn't that the benefit of being a top factory guy, not having to worry about stuff like that ??

You don't have to ride a track to learn how to ride in the mud.
Yeah assuming they are trying to play head games by saying they don't like it or afraid to get dirty...If that is their true outlook that's pretty sad.
