Very interesting to see inside the factory. I was surprised to see TM manufacturing its own rear shock. Are they also producing their own frames, or is that a purchased part?

Wow. Boxes of engine cases under the stairs and parts scattered everywhere.....bikes in various configurations and stages of assembly. As a person who likes to stay organized that place would give me nightmares. The bikes are trick for sure, but I would wonder about the ability to get parts. And if you get them would they be the same each time? I guess that's why they are exotic.

They certainly don't make their own plastics, most of the plastics are copies of other peoples. However, all the parts are readily available next day (here in the U.K. at least) and if not will be flown over from Italy the day they are ordered. Quality is NOT an issue, these beauties seem to need fewer replacement parts (due to failures) than any of the other brands. Breakages, well, the same as anyone else.

One disappointment from the film was finding out that the bikes were not assembled by beautiful Italian virgins Sad

Perhaps, but at least the Italians don't think you have blow yourself to bits in a marketplace, just to meet 75 of them.

I think it's kind of cool the way they have stuff the way they do, and you can bet every worker knows exactly where their parts are.

I asked tm racing nederlands where the plastic was made on their facebook page and they told me it's at the factory in italy.

Do the jap bikes have twin or Siamese intake runners in front of the throttle body like that TM engine?

Much respect. A very tiny factory, in Italy, making completely handmade bikes, and has a story of being racing always in the World Champ.

The video sucks big, big time, but at least we get to see how they do it!

What's the resale on something exotic like that? I imagine a full rebuild to freshen it up would be expensive probably deterring anyone from buying one that has has a couple hard seasons on it...

A full rebuild is of course expensive, just like any other bike. The parts are usually similar prices to other manufacturers unless they are super spec parts like the 4t con-rods -expensive. Just don't let any Tom, Dick or Harry work on them, they are special and deserve proper care. TMUK do all of mine, and they are super reliable as a consequence..
