Supercross is skipping Detroit this year so we are going to go to the Indianapolis round. Making the drive from just outside the motor city. Looking to stay over night saturday night. Anyone have good recommendations for hotels, food, and some other cool stuff to do? Advice is welcome

Hilton hotel is right on the city circle, there's a nice bar and chef on site. 5-6 blocks from the stadium.

Been there 9 years in a row. Stayed in almost every hotel within walking distance to the stadium, they’re all good. I usually hit the tilted kilt on Friday, then circle center mall for a little morning shopping (girlfriend) and a quick bite to eat before going to the stadium. It’s usually on St. Patty’s day so the whole city is “lit” afterwards lol

I’m from Westfield Indiana...Big Hoffas is the place you want to stop by for some of the best BBQ in the Midwest. Also Yatz is also really good if you have a Cajun taste

Last year i stayed over at a hotel in a small town about 20 mins east of indy. Went from the race right to it. Was nice to wake up and just drive home. id suggest doing something like that instead of staying in indy

There's a really high-class club called The Red Garter that's one block over from the stadium. Nice place; but, I don't think they take American Express. Afterwords, you can go to that mid-western restaurant of the stars...

Tons of places to stay. One year we stayed at the Homewood Suites, parked in their lot and didn't move the truck the whole weekend. Everything is a short walk within downtown. When we went on St. Paddy's day weekend the downtown was packed... coming from Detroit we aren't used to having to wait to get into bars. Slippery Noodle is cool, it's the oldest bar in Indiana. The Ugly Monkey used to be a favorite hangout but it's been closed for years. We also preferred the Classy Chassy over PT's.

Due to lack of access to pit area, I do not go to Indy anymore. St Louis solves that problem.

The pits were closed in 2012, but open to everyone in 2013 when I went. Not sure if it's closed again though.

I believe the convention center goes from out front of the stadium to the mall. Its a cool indoor walk that is filled with supercross fans!
