@TeamGreen,

I see the TLD also has triple density foam, which I guess makes it similar to the Bell Flex

I agree about your point about "cheap" helmets, and there is nothing wrong with buying a Fly F2 if that's what your budget permits.

The only thing that I find difficult is that people will spend $600 on a 'limited edition' FOX V4 instead of spending $450 on a leftover 6D. To me that is bad judgement.

I'm also a firm believer in supporting companies that push to advance the sport, in whatever way. That's why I wear a Leatt neck brace and a 6D helmet.

Do any of you with Shoie's or Fly F2 carbons feel the chin bar is to close?

No, my TLD se3 feels closer than my Shoei but both are comfy.

I've wore both and I definitely have never noticed it being too close.

I got a moto 9 flex but the chin bar is way to close, nothing like the moto 8's I've had.

I think they did that to decrease the leverage it could have bending your neck. I think I read that somewhere for one of the helmets that has a close chin bar but I could be mistaken.

On a side note, has anyone with a Bell Flex had issues with the rubber molding on the top of the chin bar coming unglued? I'm having this problem with one of mine.

I got the moto 9 showtime replica and the paint job is sweet, but the chin bar sucks, probably going to send it back.

I personally don't think it's to close at all. I was just making the statement that it's much closer than other helmets I've had.

Only gripe with the Moto 9 Flex is how small the goggle opening is. None of the new large goggles fit in it worth a shit.

I wear Oakley Airbrakes and they fit fine. What goggles are you wearing?

Quit dorking around and get a Troy Lee Designs helmet with some custom paint touches!

Just treated myself to my first decent helmet, managed to bag a 2016 se3 reflection for 170gbp delivered, thought it too good to turn down.

Was searching for a mtb helmet on chain reaction cycles but ended up with this.... There's a few tld helmets in the sale on there if any fellow euros are looking for a bargain.

Just need to find the tld camo kit in the sales now haha

What's the scoop on Kali?

They don't seem to have taken off but to me seem like a good option for the more budget minded (with their non carbon model).

Are they going more the way of licensing out their design/technolog?

Fly F2 Carbon. Nope, not at all, feels decently spacious actually. I love mine.

Love my Fly Carbon 2, and I'm pretty picky. Thought it was too small when I originally got it, but ordered the smaller cheek pads and it fits perfect. BTW the Dragons fit great, but had to remove the nose guard.

Did the graphics/numbers myself.

Forgot to add, I can't stand when the front of the helmet is too close to my face. Don't feel this at all in this helmet.

I have the new Leatt. Took a pretty good digger 10 days ago. Still in the hospital with broken ribs and both lung collapsed. Hit my head very hard. Haven't had a chance to look at my helmet yet but I think I destroyed it. Had multiple cat scans and their was no concussion. I have to admit it's not the most comfortable helmet I've ever had, really not much to the liner but I think it did its job. Doc was surprised I wasn't concussed as hard as I hit the ground!

About 10 years ago I went on a tour of the Snell testing lab. I was talking to the main guy in charge of testing about the cheaper helmets. He wasn't allowed to mention any names but he said some of the cheaper helmets were among the best they had tested and some of the ones everyone had always believed were the best were not. Didn't do me or you a bit of good other than don't assume high price always means good.
