Why did Maico fall off? Why does Japan dominate? Why no US company? Why Husqvarna fell off until KTM bought them.
Maico fell off as you put it.

Because of family infighting & a power struggle.

While we're doing history and trivia... Suzuki is the most common family name in Japan. Basically the "Smith" of Japan and it means "Sea Bass". Imagine if there was a US MX bike named Sea Bass.
