It was an amazing night of racing. Eli was a joy to watch. I think I've aged about 10 years seeing him land on that tough block and then Reed smacked it too... Lucky they both didn't eat it!!
I'm still not a fan. I think the concept is okay but 3 "mains" or what ever they are called is too much. It takes away from the excitement and the climax in my opinion, they are basically 3 heat races that are combined in the end to a result.
Make it 2 races and give actual points towards the championship for both of the races.
Edit: Forgot one thing. It seems like the producers of the TV/stream are completely clueless regarding this format. The fact that 50% of the last main went by without showing once the overall standings says it all. This format is not ready yet on so many levels.
I may have taken out of context how said that, my apologies. I thought you were hinting that the other triple crowns DIDN'T have a good layout and didn't offer good racing.
I agree though, this was a great track. The triple crown races have yet to disappoint.
On one hand, it sucks for the privateers that there are no heats to qualify into and they take less people. On the other hand, it awesome to see three mains of the top guys battling it out together and not separated in heats until the one main.
While I’m on board with having several Triple Crown events, maybe even more than 3, for some reason, and for the life of me I don’t know why, but for last nights race I kept finding myself wanting to fast forward closer to the end. Actually, for the 3rd 250 race, I did just that. Watched the first few laps, then skipped to the last minute and a half. The 450 races had my interest, but strangely had me lacking in excitement. Maybe I just have other shit on my mind, but it just seemed a tad off last night for some reason. I am, however, still on board with having them, just not for switching the whole series to this format.
Thought it was good to and like to see a few a year but not all. Having 2 east / west shootouts will be interesting. Looking forward to being in Atlanta next week to watch in person.
Would prefer just 2 mains like outdoorsover 3 main events. Hate to say it but each time they line up the guys are more likely to get injured.
If fhey are going to do more multuple main event races Maybe do half 7 events with 1 main, 7 events with 2 mains and 3 triple crowns so they can keep the name.
Makes for great entertainment but I would rather see guys who are in shape get rewarded.
I can understand that perspective. On the flip side, three “mains” ends up being nearly 1 hour of racing in which every lap counts with only a half hour break between. Like you said, entertaining for us, but also no cakewalk fitness wise.
The triple crown format is entertaining, but I don’t believe we need more. I am a fan of the style track we had last night. Faster racing and more opportunities to pass without having to punt someone into the 3rd row. With that said, there still should be technical layouts that benefit certain riders. This has been a very enjoyable season so far. I hope it continues and comes down to the last event to determine a champion. Would be great to see the same thing outdoors.
Great format for us. Terrible for non team riders.....no exposure at all therefore less sponsors. Got to add one lcq main event to correct. Not a quali just a main
I hate to say for the privateers that I liked it, a bit of change for a few rounds is cool.
The only bad thing I noticed was that it was really difficult to know the overall standings during the 2nd moto, and even more during the 3rd one. I think the TV crew can do better, for instance at some point Webb was winning and Reed was probably second, ... but we had no clue ... To have the top 8 overall standings + the points would be cool in order to follow which rider need to make passes to get the win, a podium or the top 5.

Split lane worked really well on this track.
250s were a snoozer because Forkner has just been that good... no format gonna change that (and it shouldn’t)

Pit Row
All the racing was meaningful.
Also like the split lanes. They should use those more often.
