I'm giving away a 2019 KTM 450SXF *and* a Chevy 3500 Moto van.

Originally, like every other racer in the midwest I started a raffle. Apparently, this is how you move a motorcycle. It's standard practice, and often see bikes being raffled off even with incentives of cash prizes! The goal was to offer a kit that could take someone coast to coast with a solid vehicle and a great bike for a $100 raffle ticket. After a buddy mentioned the words "felony offense" I did some research and found out that the casinos have lobbied to be the only ones that can hold raffles. The gaming commission agreed, and now it's law. So there I was, with a couple dozen purchased tickets for a raffle that would probably land me in legal hot water. I was sweating bullets and could feel a stomach ulcer coming on. After a day of hard thought and some advice from close friends, I'm giving away my stuff.

The bike is a 19 KTM 450 with 33 total hours purchased new in May of 2020. It has Race Tech suspension, ProTaper bars and SELA, and some other small aftermarket details. The van is a 2008 Chevy big block V8 with 230k featuring XD wheels, new tires, updated brakes and sway bar components, HD headlights, and features a carpeted partition with plenty of room for multiple bikes and all the gear you'll need to take to the track. There's even a new bunk and memory foam mattress behind the captains chairs! Both have clear titles. the van is actually Cianciarulo's whip originally, he sold it to Benny Bloss, then I acquired it last year.

So because I can't legally hold a raffle - I had to change the program. Something that is legal, is taking on a few new sponsors. Here's where I had to get creative, because I want someone to win this go race kit, and make a little cash to keep propelling my own race team, which competes in the Hoosier AX Nationals during the winter and a unique outdoor schedule with a little blend of everything from local to national events.

Who is eligible for the giveaway? Sponsors. Who is a sponsor? Anyone willing to become part of my race team for a small investment. What are sponsors guaranteed? At minimum, an autographed team poster and a sticker pack, weekly race reports, insider insight on the team, first notification of new content, and their name in the credits of all YT/IGTV content. One lucky sponsor has the chance to win a bike and a van with accessories from Matrix and UFO. 5 sponsors will win custom sticker kits for their own bikes. Sponsors pledging $200 or more have the chance to win a kit of Fox pants, gloves, and jersey. There are even more tiers, ranging from tier 1 sponsorship to tier 5, which is a diamond level team partner. Each (1) sponsorship pledge is worth 1 of 200 available sponsorship positions, with each position priced at $100 usd. The odds of receiving something are 1:1 with the guaranteed sticker pack, poster, and email newsletter. I'm adding in new prizes and product daily, and the new sponsors are coming on by the dozen every day.

Going racing requires being crafty and a little creative, I hope that everyone here can see what I'm trying to do is bring people together, go race motocross, support a couple of my own athletes that are racing for me this winter, and offer the opportunity to win cool shit for a fraction of the original cost. If you want to tee off on me for doing this, that's fine, I'm a big boy and can handle the downvotes. I'm just excited to be giving away all this cool shit to someone that is willing is pledge a $100 sponsorship and that outweighs anyone thinking this is lame.

Here is the link to my website where you can find further nuance and understand more about the offering.

I'm a principal at an elementary school and was informed that our cakewalk we were doing to fund our copiers was not legal! It was because it was a "game of chance" they said. We got around it by making sure everyone got something so it was no longer a game of chance. We charged admission instead of selling chances to walk and were able to do it legally that way.

Same here I have sponsors to give my stuff to. Also do a few other things like gift cards from said sponsors. It always works out in everyone's favor.

It's stuff like this that makes you wonder "did someone ruin it for everyone else" or did some litigious minded folk see an opportunity for billable hours

Likely truth is both happened. Someone probably was way to far into that grey area and a lawyer thought they could make money off of it. That and Indians are vicious when it comes to anything gambling or chance related.

Pretty much everything done by those in control is for the gain of money / power and / or preserving existing money / power

Great post! Appreciate all of the details and effort you took creating a comprehensive program with transparency. I'll definitely be supporting your team in spirit and see what I can financially. Best of luck! ~484

Thanks everyone, both for the pledges and well wishes. We're welllll over halfway to unlocking the bike, and steadfast toward the van. This is a blistering pace considering we're under 72 hours with this program.

A note specifically to/about Doug's comment above this:
You said a word I try to achieve every day in operating my team: transparency. It's paramount in crowd funding. It's necessary in attracting investment. It's a keystone to integrity. We have all heard nightmares and horror stories about riders and crew being stiffed by teams, agents stepping in and creating a mess, and companies being cheated out of product. What blows my mind, is many of these individuals somehow stay in the industry on the same path. I refuse to operate that way, and have found that full transparency leaves zero room for doubt for everyone aboard. Every time I'm on the phone or in contact with a team partner, I'm asking for performance reviews and comparison to the other riders and managers they deal with. I take their feedback and figure out how to do it better.

Everything you're seeing now is me taking what I learned from last year's outfit, and making it better.

Creative idea I Like it. I,m sure it’s time consuming putting it all together. Curious do you run the race team, as a LLC buisness ? I think you can, if your selling a product. The race team promotes the product. Making it legal. I really want to race the Hoosier AX on a 125 in 2 classes. Chicago has a lot of record labels, I think it would be a great sponsor. Or even start a record label. Race team promotes the cd sales. I started a buisness , the Russians I drive for pay my buisness and not me. I just changed Aaglobal inc an s Corp, to a LLC. If you don’t do quarterly pay roll on a s Corp, you pay a penalty every quarter. Had to change the name to GLOBAL532. Because aaglobal inc name was taken in my state by me. And ya can’t have inc in a llc buisness name. It’s pretty easy to do. Aag are my initials, I made it aaglobal inc in 4 seconds. Funny story behind that.

Shoutout to all the Vital members that joined in on the team - just wanted to pop in and announce we hit 80 entries today. The clock is now ticking, and no more than 1 month from today I will be announcing the winner. No more than 29 days from today you will receive your randomized entry number.

Now we work toward the van being unlocked in the giveaway to my sponsors.

So pumped to offer such a program, one that everyone leaves satisfied with all sponsors purchasing their poster/sticker/credits/race report inclusion + and a giveaway opportunity.

Also included - 5 random sponsors will receive a custom sticker kit for their current bike. Any sponsor that pledges $200 plus is entered to win a new set of Fox gear PLUS a set of race worn, team autographed set after the AX season is over.

All the details can be found on my website, linked above.

Thanks!
