For years i've heard about the Maico 700, but i've never been able to find one to take for a spin. So me and my bike builder friend decided to build a 700cc beast for ourselves. I'm going to document the entire build process on YouTube. I just released the first episode. Any comments of advice and/or well wishes would be appreciated! lol
Now i just need to find someone qualified to ride this thing when it's done...cause it certainly ain't me! Haha

Saw the thread title and thought this might be an April Fools joke....lol

Can't wait to see the build. Is that actually a kickstarter on that motor? silly

How's your dental plan? Any fillings you have are going to vibrate out....w00t

They built one in the early 80s. 760cc. 43hp at 2800 rpm. Was its peak according to dirt bike mag. My memory is a little iffy however

Was about to post the exact same thing. About 450cc's too much.

I saw the title and thought "Hillclimbers are wired different."

It doesn't look like that's what he has intended for it but it was the first thing that came to mind.

Why not just get an old side car mx bike and take the side car off. As I recall a lot of them run about that size engine.

They tried to get this into Superkarts https://www.facebook.com/Mediasuperkart/posts/3967655643304340 as a cheaper alternative to the 250cc twins which smash out 100+hp nowadays. Wouldn't mind seeing one of those motors in a dirtbike smile

Cool concept. Wish you'd knock about 10 minutes of fluff from the videos...

Thing comes off idle, and you're immediately pulling a wheelie!

Looking forward to watching the build series, TooFastFilms.

Well then there'd be nothing, right now.
It's just buzz building, for the moment.
