I loved it. Between it and the mud this is the most entertaining race of the year.

I liked it too. Would've been better if not a mudder to see how they matched up but still a good change.

What if 250 East and West Championship were combined for all 17 rounds, that would be awesome!!!

I think it sucks for all the privateers who take that long drive down today. its already a tough one to make let alone what the weather conditions did to those guys

I think it'd be cool to change up the structure for the small class.

6 races each of just coastal... and 5 races combined. Each is an 11 race series, 2 regional champs and a shoot out cup winner.

It was cool to see how they might stack up, and a bit of a throw back to late 90s where they raced maybe 3/4 times a year... but if you keep it sorta split, you don't lose all the extra jobs and rides the regional system provides for.

That's like someone asking what day does Friday the 13th fall on......

Facepalm.

If they were combined all 17 rounds it wouldn't be east/west

Bad for the riders, great for the fans. Hence, you guys liked the added excitement.

And yet, you guys hate the chase?

Makes perfect sense.

So...every person that likes the east/west shootout has, for a fact, spoken out against the chase? Or...are you just talking out of your ass?

Not only that, but the east/west shootout has nothing in common with a chase format.

You might want to check the pilot light on your stove or water heater. I think your breathing in gas fumes.

A great 250 race. The mud made the difference. We saw the fastest riders in America look like the normal joe in the mud. SX and MX, it's about having to race not only other riders but the elements. That's real racing not some over groomed track. Best race to watch on tv since the Daytona mud race.

I really liked it, but I'm just a fan, never raced so my opinion is obviously moot.

love it! I've been wanting them to do this for years. lets the fans see the best of the best go at it in the 250's as opposed to meaningless combined E/W shootout races in years past

I really hope they stick with this. they have messed with the 250's finale way too much in recent years. sometimes it's a meaningless shootout, other times it a separate 250 E and W final, and now they've put this new twist on the racing.

I've always felt the same about the shootout. It's like the NFL Probowl or NASCAR Allstar race where it's cool to win but doesn't really mean anything.

The debate isn't the shootout, it's that the two classes are being combined and that it impacts the points.

Clearly you are the one that has the issue connecting the dots. Also, it is quite apparent from your inability to use the correct you'RE.

Have fun at school tomorrow kiddo!

Debunking the man with a rebuttal based on his use of your. Solid argument.

I totally disagree. I think they should have at least 3 rounds of this. Only reason I was looking forward to watching the race.

and why is it so terrible?
It turned out awesome because of the mud.

But you're combining 2 different race's into 1 deciding race... so lets say next year we get a simialr battle where the 250s have to win a championship on that night.... both close in points and lets say both points leaders get taken out by someone from the different coast's who they haven't raced against all year and they cant salvage the position needed to clinch.. and you essentially screw them out of a title. that's fair?

So what happens if some kid only qualifies for a couple of races on his coast - Vegas being one of them - and he takes out the points leader? Are they "screwed out of a title" because they've never raced with the kid before? It's racing, and sometimes shit happens. I personally like the idea of combining the two coasts (full disclosure; I'd like to see the 250s race all 17 rounds).

So the argument that scoring points in the shootout is a bad idea is because someone from another imaginary coast might take a rider out, and this would somehow be more likely and more upsetting than a rider from the same imaginary coast doing said stuff? Got it.
