Super awesome looking RM-Z btw. Love the retro yellow & blue and the period appropriate silver rims too.
Best of luck to you!
“Vloggers” that narrate while riding are asking to have wipeouts. There is no time to narrate or be thinking about what an audience will think as they watch this type of video.. while riding. As soon as I heard the guy start talking while riding I already knew he was going to make a mental error and slam.
There are a handful of A and Pro riders that can narrate while riding. Novice riders need to be putting every literal thought into what they’re doing. *Especially* when they jump on a bike they aren’t accustomed to. The same as how boxing coaches can narrate what they’re doing while they light their student up, but can’t do the same the other way around.
Sorry you crashed though. Downvote on your clickbait video title.

You may continue by trying to go more conservately (easier said than done, last time i tried i can't but many can get that "enduro style").
About the crash, yes it is an overjump but i think the crash came from not having a finger on the clutch, the bike seems to have stalled mid air when correcting her with the rear brake. (With some gas on, I think the suspensions would have absorbed the impact)
I don't know if it helps, but if it can, here is what i remember of Fred Vialle's advices he gave in a recent interview, to avoid injuries (he had some big ones but never broke a bone in 15 years of pro racing);
- always a finger on the clutch (as this crash)
- never sit on the take off (anytime you sit you are a passenger, and a mechanical can always happen)
- stand up as much as possible ("anytime you sit you are a passenger")
- don't scrub (can catch a peg...)
- when trying a new jump, jump a bit front wheel high to have possibilities to correct the bike
- ride within your limits, especially in term of fitness (don't push your fitness on the bike, to stay "in control")
(- from my personal experience don't go for the last lap of the day)
- warm up more the older you get, a bit yoga style for the shoulder, wrist, knee, etc
- of course always with full protections (gear but also insurance)
- (last but not least, if you can maybe avoid tracks with big stuffs, it is always too tempting and i think the way many tracks are designed are pushing out many vets who are more aware of their family and job responsibilities)
In all cases Good Luck !
Seriously man, reflect on all that and come out stronger. When life gives you lemons, make the best damn lemonade you can out of it.
Also, glad you and your wife are OK in the automobile crash. Vehicles can be replaced.
Here's a clip of that crash i had, maybe it'll help you cope or something. I dunno:
I don't mean to laugh but it fugging sucks.
It is the worst though!
Crash is within :47 - 1:10 of video

Seriously, I've quit all things dirtbike related a few times in my life. It's rough, and you definitely had a tough string of luck there. The sport will be here when you're ready, take the time you need. If you're gonna ride scared you won't enjoy it and then what's the point? And if you never feel the desire to throw a leg over a bike again, that's fine too. You should only do this if you really enjoy it.
As for me, I swear I've quit for good. Just one more race in Cash TX this weekend and I'll be DONE!
dust yourself off and get back on that horse. and my advice is quit giving a shit about the view-count and go ride your dirt bike.
Heal up and get back on again, and again and again......
You know what always seems to trigger a comeback for me? I really miss nothing about riding except for the feeling you get when you absolutely rail a bermed corner.... That shit keeps me coming back...
