You're damned if you do, damned if you don't in that situation. You think if you were in his position, you would (on your first race with your new team) be the reason your teammate didn't win 1 million dollars, and think things would go smoothly during the rest of your stay there?...... C'mon now.

if Savatgy took let's say 10% of each Tomac's and Jesse's checks he made 200K by losing one spot, I'd have crashed for that amount.

Kawasaki will match his winnings for letting Eli pass him.

If he didn't let Eli bye, they would have found something in his locker if you know what I mean.

No if your Joey Savatgy you just don’t wave him by. Tomac was passing no matter what. I think Savatgy threw the wave out so he could collect on some bonus money. (Take away any doubt that Tomac got by him). Savatgy is a business man $, this could be his last big paying year.

It was the last lap with two corners to go. There's no way Tomac would have caught Joey if he was racing to win that entire moto. That entire last lap he was going at a snails pace.

I was a bit disappointed with how it played out, as i believe Joey slowed down the last lap.. but it is what it is.. and it means we could be in for a very interesting season coming up. Savatgy is fast on that 450!

Basically! I feel Joey ultimately made the best decision, though he could have made his "gift" slightly less obvious. Bc now poor Eli has to deal with this "scandal" being discussed for the rest of the off season Sick

Maybe the guy wanted some random dude to get a MILLION DOLLARS. Why be that selfish and win a meaningless race when you're denying two people, one of whom presumably could really use it, a massive amount of cash. Savatgy showed he had the speed and made his point.

I agree. Joey could have "accidentally" gone deep into that corner without waving Eli by, would have given the same result without causing the fallout

Joey was in a tough spot for sure, especially it being his first race. It's just the irony of the Kawasaki and Tomac crying for over a year about KTM 'race fixing' then winning a million in exactly the same way that stinks.

Lets look at it this way you vitards who are moaning about this. This would of been undoubtedly the most successful night of Joey’s life as a racer, Eli and kawi would of sorted joey out something sweet for letting Eli by, this is his career and his job so you do whatever makes you the most money At the time, after all these careers as a money making pro doesnt last very long in the grand scheme of things does it? Joey has walked away tonight without doubt 100k richer than he was when he arrived in Vegas. No one else on that track was affected by what happened, no points or chanpionships at stake like when Musquin pulled over for Dungey when he was in a heated championship battle with Eli. It literally only affected two people on the track and both came away on top. Well done Joey on a fantastic first ride, and well done Eli and have fun deciding what colour lambo you are going to buy Cool

The person in the toughest spot is ET. I'm no fan of Joey's but IMO, he did the right thing. I have no issue with it. ET is the one who needs to duck his head and avoid the mics on his way out of the pits. All of the complaining he did about the KTM team tactics and now the shoe is on the other foot and he has nothing to say?

No matter what you think about the incident, Savatgy looked pretty damned good on that 450. A lot of people don't like him and I can kind of see why, but I'm glad he did well and hope he has a good year.

......I would run a "Cheap Date" butt patch because Id only want 5% to do the same.

And tomorrow morning I would be apologiizing to the Monster Brass for potentially costing them 1.4mm 1 MM to eli and a loss of a 400K premium. .(Figuring that the insurance Co denies the claim because he pulled over for Eli..)

It’s different than the KTM thing. That was for the championship that was super close. Last night, Eli was the only person that could win the million so it’s not like Savatgy’s move cost someone else something. Can you imagine what people would be saying if Savatgy cost Eli and Jeese a million? He did the right thing and I️ think Eli was going by regardless. He was FLYING those last laps.

I have never had a chance to put a million bucks in my buddy's wallet. Have you? Who'd want to mess that up? Eli had the option of 100,000 or 1,000,000. Think Eli is kind enough to call a spade a spade, and throw a nice bone to his pal? I do.

Joey made a fan of me, that was an awesome move.

First, the difference between 1st and 2nd would not have changed Joey's final standing. If he had won, all it would have done was kept Eli from winning 1mill, Eli already had the overall. Plus Joey helped put a second million in another guys pocket too. There was a risk Eli may have tried some crazy shit to make the pass and a risk getting hurt.

Awesome team work, earns a friend in Eli, does not hurt or put out ANYONE else and seriously may have earned himself at least another year on that team.

I felt like Tomac was going to bang his way through, Joey probably did the right thing.

I just wonder how the Monster execs feel about it.
