I’ll take a 2-2 tally and the overall any day. Or consistent top 5s if my competitors are all over the place. its about championships not individual wins.

Results are interesting. Almost a perfect 50/50 split. Kinda cool.

Titles bring big bonuses. $$$ Joe Schmoe booing you along the fence for podiuming your way to a title is going to be the least of your worries when you're cashing those checks or when you're living well 15 years after your career is over.

Win the title for sure. No one remembers the guy who won some races. Everyone remembers the guy who won the championship. Championships also bring in the big money. Lots of money for winning and lots of money for the future contract you're gonna sign. It sounds a lot better when your agent says to a team owner "my guy won the 2019 SX championship" than "my guy won 7 races in 2019 but finished 2nd."

The results are very interesting though. I'm actually shocked with how many people would rather win races than championships.

If Musquin wins. He will know that it's not a real title.

Right now if Husky and Kawi both leave the dirt bike game and Eli and JA are both looking for rides next year, who gets picked up first and who gets paid more? I think we all know the answer.

Who remembers Steve Ramon or Josh Coppins?
Good point! Man, I rooted so hard for Josh to make it back in time from his shoulder injury.. he was without a doubt the best that year. But no disrespect to Steve, he earned it!

JMB won an AMA 250 title without winning an overall . He did win some motos though. I remember Ramon winning that title also.

Before I answer, can I see the bonus structure in my contract? My decision will be based solely on which scenario is more lucrative.

Winning some overall races and championship points work.

100% winning Dominance is rare with RC4 & JS7 the only 2 I can think of.

You only live once. As long as my salary is good either way give me the race wins. Screw the titles and the history book. When I am dead, I won't give a damn about what people think about me or my stupid titles anyway. Nothing like the sweet taste of victory when you just kicked everyone's ass. CoolWoohoo

Ask the golden state warriors, when they beat the all time season win record, and lost the title series. Easy answer.

Should probably ask Hannah that question. He was in a title fight with Bailey when a similar scenario played out.

Funny some think its about the money. Some people are already rich, some don't care to be. Some leave their families for money. Championships first, race wins second. If youre in it for money, you probably aint getting any!

Go ask Grant Langston if he’s happier with the 03 season or the 01 season.

Right, but his bank account doesn't care, which is ultimately what matters (the additional 0 at the end of the paycheck)

Both ET and JA have the same amount of 450 titles so I'm not sure what you're getting at.

JA: 1 450 title with a few wins.
ET: 1 450 title with a shit ton of wins.

Again, what are you getting at? Of course ET would be highly sought after. So would JA. I can pretty much guarantee you literally every professional team would LOVE to have either guy.

Anyways, you're saying the guy with the same amount of titles but more wins would get more money. No kidding? Is that, like, surprising to you or something?

My point is that there have been titles won by someone who wasn't the fastest guy, and it seems like its been happening a fair amount in the last 10 years. Titles mean you consistently scored the most amount of points each weekend -...and that your name is in the record books when people on the internet want to argue about "who was better"

Winning titles by being consistent is profitable, but I would argue that being the fastest guy week in and week out is just as, if not more, profitable...and, as the poll asked, I would rather be the fastest guy.
