And cooper crashed out in the first turn, would you tell Tomac? He would still need to win the race to claim the title.

Ummm... i think Eli will go for the win regardless.

Cooper just have to make the main to win

If Eli wins he needs to finish no worse than 20th. Seems a given of course but stranger things have happened.

Mechanical in the heat and first turn pile up in LCQ

Or mechanical breakdown in the main and 21st or 22nd place.

When is the last time a Red Bull Ktm has had a mechanical?

I don't know. It would more likely be the result of something happening to the bike in a 1st turn incident or something like that. He'll cruise to this title though . 3rd place at worst.

And then Kenny Bartram’s KTM did the same thing the next year in Dallas tongue

Jokes aside, I definitely get your point.

Dungey had a few.

If i was tomacs mechanic id make sure the bike is built right and help him test for outdoors. The title isnt within reach. Onto the next thing.

|

5/3/2019 4:20 AM

Maybe slip some eye drops in Cooper's Red Bull during track walk? That's about the only real chance anyone has of beating Webb. I was really pulling for Eli this year but Webb has been impressive. I hope he is able to do keep it up during outdoors. Should make for a great series.

It won’t matter. Tomac will win Vegas regardless, the guy is an animal on that surface

Marv's bike broke at the final round when battling Martin for the 250 outdoor title. That was a pretty big one.

a better question is, if Webbs bike break in start crash or early, would KTM/Husky pull of 2 of their riders to give Webb the point he needs? I guess they would.

I wouldn't tell him. That would just mind eff Tomac. Other riders in that position, yeah sure tell them.

About 15 Kawasaki mechanicals ago.

Doesn't really work like that amigo.

Tomac would still crash and finish in a spot that still lost the title but less than 5.

Cooper isn't trying to do anything but finish. Top 10. The real race is between the 3 and 25.

Would love a video compilation of all of Coopers close calls this year there have been several. Cats have 9 lives and Cooper has 11. But he made it through the gauntlet and is one race away from a well earned championship. Fortunately for Eli he shook a lot of adversity this year and got the bike sorted just in time to go for the 3 peat outdoors.

That is Bradley Cooper not Cooper Webb smile

Well if his mechanic is smart he couldnt tell Tomac because then he would choke once he knows he has a chance. I predict Ralph and Ricky will be going ape shit the entire main event about how Tomac has a shot and Webb will walk away with the championship anyways. Tomacs chances of winning a championship statistically are slim to none at this point in supercross.

Mathematically, you are correct. But I just don't see that happening. Every KTM on the track would pull off and Coop would push his bike for 1 lap to finish ahead of them if that happened.

Crazy thought.......If I was the head honcho at KTM, I'd be tempted to bonus every KTM rider to pull off after the start straight and not record a lap just to be on the safe side. laughing laughing

Or maybe Coop hands 10k to a couple of privateers to pull off. ((Reaching under my desk to grab my tin foil hat))

5/3/2019 6:18 AM

Tomac can't win the title, it would have to be given to him via a DNF from Webb........

ET3 is probably in outdoor mode, just like he should be..... he knew this one was lost months ago......

If he DNFd first he would still finish behind them...

|

5/3/2019 10:16 AM

If they were smart, they'd pay off a couple privateers to have a "bike issue" on the first lap, just in case.

|

5/3/2019 10:24 AM

His mechanic needs to focus on his front suspension so he will stop crashing and let Tomac do the rest.

This. Also, it's better to hope one of those riders can beat Tomac or at the very least "accidentally" get in his way to keep him from winning when he laps them.
