My rookie year would have been 2009, so right now I'd probably be in my first or second year in the 450 class, hopefully doing as well as Roczen.

Would have turned pro in either Tourist Trophy in the US or Scrambles in Britain and Europe.. Dave Bickers on a 250cc machine if I went to Europe.

Well it was 78 for me...although I was nnnn19....but that Freckle was just 16 and on yellow. Hannah, Bell, Glover were certainly turning it up on Smith, Wienert and Tony D. Great Competition, but I was in full attack mode just trying to make it to the big gate. Never saw much of the 2 digit boys unless they were laid out in the first turn.

It would be the last few rounds of 1998 outdoor series for me, so...
1998 125 MX
1 Ricky Carmichael
2 John Dowd
3 Casey A Johnson
4 Robbie L Reynard
5 Michael Brown
6 Jimmy Button
7 Stephane Roncada
8 Tim Ferry
9 Nicholas Wey
10 Nathan Ramsey

First full sx (let's say west) and mx series would look like this...
1999 125W SX
1 Nathan Ramsey
2 Casey Lytle
3 Isaiah V Johnson
4 David Pingree
5 Michael Brandes
6 Ryan D Clark
8 Greg S Schnell
7 Casey A Johnson
9 Travis A Preston
10 Erick Vallejo

1999 125 MX
1 Ricky Carmichael
2 Brock Sellards
3 Tallon Vohland
4 Nicholas Wey
5 Nathan Ramsey
6 Stephane Roncada
7 Michael Brandes
8 Ernesto Fonseca
9 Casey A Johnson
10 Casey Lytle
Whats crazy, of the 23 riders in the points you listed, only 1 is still racing and he's getting solid results and making a name for himself and his brand. Wey and the Mafia Moto Crew still doin work.

That's just off the top of my head. Kind of intimidating to think back on it now.
I started racing for money at 14. Won my first pro race and I beat a few names like coyote who posts on here often. My dad made me spend all my winnings on pizza and beer after the race. All 125 bucks of it. As for my first ama pro race there was Howerton, Stackable, Karsmakers , Wienert and a whole shit pot full of other bad muthas. Drove to Lake Whitney and all the other nationals with Kiki...my cousin. We were both 16 years old. We had a road Atlas, a couple gas cards and a thousand bucks cash. Got pulled over a few times by the Popo and they had to have dispatch call my dad to make sure see didn't steal the van we were in. Ahh...the good ole days.

Damn, I'm old. But at least I'm still riding.
My uncle was Furman Gray (moms brother), he turned PRO somehow at 15 if my math is correct. I know my grandparents had to sign for him to compete at Anaheim. He was born Dec. 31, 1959. Anaheim was Dec. 13, 1975.

Also here's a pic believed to be at the Fl. Winter AM. Here's a pic of Furman and Mark Barnett.

Got to race (be on the same gate) RC at Lorettas a couple times. One time in practice I was wide open in third gear and he passed me like I was stuck in the mud....... he must have been in fourth.

I doubt I would have been running up front so my main competition would have been dudes like:

Dave Castillo
Tyson Vohland
Trevor Meagher
Danny Paladino
Shane Trittler
Mike Young
Darrin Hoeft
Chris Young
Tommy Clowers
Dana Wiggins

I would have been 16 at the season opener in 1991 so there would also have been dudes like McGrath/Emig/Craig/Lamson
