I had the chance to talk to The King and ask him if he had a "do-over" in his career, what would it be? I had previously asked him this question in private so I knew he'd talk about his 1996 outdoor season so I also had my own question prepared for him about his brief time with KTM.

At Phoenix on the 2 stroke CR? I saw it on TV. Drop the mic moment.
I was on travel and at a mall in La Jolla, shopping for a Valentine’s Day wife gift. Just mid week, middle of the day, and there’s MC with a buddy doing the same. It was during his farewell tour. I was still bummed about the way things ended, but didn’t bring it up. He was very chill, and I said the typical fan boy stuff and out of respect cut it short. First and only time in my life I probably came off as a star struck dork!

Very cool. Jeremy in his prime really was the Muhammad Ali of Supercross, beat so many great riders for so long.

I remember him bringing up that 96 season on several occasions over the years, how he wished he'd just stuck out and got what he could get for that race. Insane amount of titles regardless.

I could be wrong but I believe he also cut his foot at a restaurant whilst trying to get over the other Millville injury? Stepped on a broken glass or something... Unbelievable.

Very well done and cool to see his insight on all of that. I saw MC’s nac nac at PHX 2006 in person. One of the best moments I’ve seen at a race ever.

They only caught the last split second of it. I think js7 maybe crashed and the cameras were pointed at him.. I could be wrong about that detail but I know they didn’t catch the whole thing on tv.

Is and will always be The King, was lucky enough to see him ride a couple of times in his prime, a privilege.

That bike looks so good, anyone have a side on shot of it?

It think mc would have beat rc in there primes he just wanted to focus on supercross but when everyone said he was'nt fast outdoors he proved them wrong in 95 and 96 and shit even 98 he was winning before he broke his wrist and I would rank it 1.MC 2.RJ 3.RC

Idk I’d still say Carmichael’s the goat. Yea Jeremy could have probably won a lot outdoors...but he didn’t, RC did.

That was cool, still love watching races from that era. MC still sounded a bit frustrated at himself for the 96 outdoor title! I would say McGrath is the GOAT of supercross, RC the GOAT with the combination of both disciplines.

I think a few things that aren't talked about enough with Jeremy is that he is smart and didn't have lots of big injuries before turning pro. Probably not starting mx until later was a big part of that (parents take note). I also like the fact that he didn't feel the need to stick around after retirement to keep himself relevant.

He just won his first short course truck championship. At one race he was leading, Deegan was a lapper and kept racing McGrath on the last lap almost taking MC out. McGrath's response after race was great, saying that was typical punk bs from Deegan. Haha...love it.

As far as other riders, Emig, RV, Ron Lechien, J-Law (of course), Mike Alessi, Kevin Windham, TP199 and so on

Andrew Short: Very interested to hear how his experiences are in off road and if he wishes he started earlier.

John Dowd: Interested to hear how he thinks the sport is evolving.
