Well if Ben is out for the rest of the summer. (sux for Ben, He had potential to be in the mix)

Who do you think Honda will pick up to replace him.???

1) S. H. 105 ? putting in some good rides this summer already. How fast would he be on the CRF??

2) Cooper.? If you have seen him ride this year you know that he is impressive. Who knew?

3) Jeff Alessi ? Top ten in points already and needs a ride after Colorado.

4) Brown? Did Mike come home just in time to snag a factory ride?

Or option 5. Do they just leave the bike parked all summer??

Well if the YOT rumor is true for brown then I'll go with Alessi. Although Cooper is BT's freind. BT might recomend him.

It all depends on what kind of deals they all have now ?? Alessi was with Honda, don't know how they left that relationship in the past ?? Cooper has a deal, you would think the whole team is already there at the race, might as well use the bike right ?? Time to pick up the red courtesy phone and make the calls, would be smart on the riders parts. I'd beg if I wanted that ride lol

Alessi's burned the Honda bridge when they left for KTM.

I'd try and make an offer where it was too good of a deal for them to pass up. I'd make it heavy laden for performance bonuses instead of a guaranteed straight salary too. If I don't show that I'm confident enough in my ability to put money on my results, why should they?

If I had a team, I'd have to go with someone with upside. Cody Cooper.

I don't know the circumstances at all, they never disrespected Honda so I can't say, but I know MC told them a few choice words and I don't know if you noticed but um yeah he rides Hondas for the factory even as a part-timer Wink

The Alessi's have mended those bridges by now? If they haven't then Tony is dumb and I don't think he is that dumb maybe a little (hype) but not completely. It’s a close knit family so I can't imagine they didn't mend the bridges. At least put up a rope bridge.

Honda isnt stupid, business is business. If Jeff can produce and they can agree on a contract, I say put the kid on a CRF. He is only gonna get faster as he gets seat time and older.

Tony has said in the past that Jeff is faster then Mike, just Mike is more consistent and Jeff seems to take dirt samples, but hell look at RC & James their first years on the big bikes, Jeff could be a contender with the right man-friend and bikes.

Jeff. We are talking Jeff not Mike here.
Jeff rides a CRF 450 now, so his terms with Honda can't be that bad. They just might say that Tony is not allowed though.

Sondy? What kind of deal does Cooper have with the Suzuki City / OTSFF team? He locked out of getting a factory ride all summer?

Not sure about Browns deal at YOT. he could still be in the hunt.

Hambone.. You'd better get some calls into Honda man.

Brownie or Hamblin for sure. Get one of those guys out there and you have a shot at a podium by the end of the summer. Jeff Alessi is inconsistent and crashes too much, Cooper already has a good ride, imo.

Not sure on Cooper's deal but regardless it's signed, so that pretty much shuts him out.

I don't understand why people think that just because there is a contract in place that it can't be negated?

Most contracts have out clauses in them. Most reasonable persons wouldn't stop someone from advancing their position either.

If Honda came a knocking, Cooper or anyone else could take the ridet, at least IMO.

Just because one factory got a replacement rider one time, does'nt mean that the rest of them are going to start doing it too. The bike will sit just like the rest of the times there was an injured Honda rider.

Has Honda ever filled a position in the middle of the season ?

also the deal with Jesseman makes you wonder who will deal with him after he walked away from his agreemnet last year ?

They've actually done it already this year for Townley, and had Coisy ride SX for them. I remember a few years back when Ramsey was riding the 450 for them and he was out hurt, they give the bike to Paul Carpenter for a few rounds. Just the bike though, not a spot on the team.

The deal with Coisy is a completely different situation. That situation has occured many of times.

Except the #1 bike would have had a replacement rider if the replacement rider hadn't broken his arm. The days of parking those bikes are just about over. With outside sponsorship brings the obligation to put machines on the track. They'll be looking. With the new management, the teams will soon be the owners of the numbers too.

Not with Honda. He was brought in specifically to replace the injured Townley for SX. Its would be pretty funny if they actually did bring in a guy to ride in place of Townley AGAIN, for the second time in a year. Maybe they oughta call up Coisy again.
