In one of the most shallow ruts I’ve seen at a National. These guys are pitched over an insane amount.

Great pictures, and even better technique and skill from these two.

These photos really emphasize the difference of appearance and feel of the dirt at Washougal. That dirt looks so cakey and perfect since it's so dark but literally every rider will tell you it's the slickest track on the series. It's looks nice and loamy but it's really only a very shallow layer on top of a hard base. Great photos!

It really is a trip. And when it rains and becomes mud, it’s the worst. One of my favorite tracks that’s I’ve ever ridden, but it is super deceiving

Perfect track prep, they are ruts that are there from being dug out, not sinking in.

Great racing. Track prep left it a little one lined for my liking but those guys were flying.

I saw this title and thought of Barcia going down in that fast right hander.

Anyone else notice how Elis head stays perfectly in line with his body? I see it all the time when he hits a rut on tv, it looks kinda weird. Does/has any other pro really corner like this? I know I dont, I feel like almost everyone does it like chase and keeps his eyes level with the horizon.

Definitely. Eli’s a bit stiffer in his body movements on the bike, yet he turns the throttle even more. The comment DV made on pulp about his bike looking like sh*t…made me wonder is Eli one of the last of this generation? Reminds me of RC, how strange his bike looked when he was absolutely flying. My point is, the newer generation, they flow with their bike more, better technique..whereas RC & Eli just hammer it (stylistically)

Great photos by the way!

Me to mate, I had visions of a Nascar spinning down the back straight somewhere showering sparks all over the place but instead of the car, it was Barcias GAS-GAS doing 360's.
