Curious for the orange / white devotees if KTM and Husky were no longer a viable option, what would your second choice be & why? Ergos, power delivery, reliability, tracking, etc...
Poll

If you DIDN’T own a KTM/Husky, what brand bike would you have?

With the improvements to the YZF, I think I would go that direction. But they are all so good now.

Suzuki's are the Japanese king of handling. That made my decision on what bike I would ride because to me- handling>power/technology

I don't own a KTM, but I have 2 Suzuki 2 strokes collecting dust, and an Alta. I chose ebike because it's seriously the best bike I've ever ridden after suspension work. I don't ride desert, or long woods loops, so it's perfect for me.

Why either or?
TC250 and YZ250 for me. Can't decide which one I like more so I have to keep both. The YZ needs less care definitely

There are not really any E-bike out other than KTM now right?

I rode KTM and Yamaha for years. And i own a GasGas 300 smoker now and really love that bike. Handles great and alot of power. Especially bottom power

Rode a lot of bikes, never owned anything else than KTMs and Hondas.
Guess these are the ones I feel right at home on.
And for most models, I liked their looks.

My local Yamaha dealer has the best support going. A mom and pop type shop that rides and races, supports local series, has a shop you can see people working in. Just nice people.
The shop I bought my Husky from was the same, been around 40 years but ended up closing due to a lack of family interest.

Since I'm on 2 strokes , it would most likely be Yamaha or TM. Probably the TM to be honest , as I really dig those bikes and the reviews of them.

How in the hell is Yamaha leading? 95% of Yamaha hating threads are started by KTM owners

I voted Suzuki and then looked at the thread and have to agree that TM would be the say to go. The 300 2 stroke would be sweet!

Kawasaki or Honda on the track.

Yamaha, Beta, or Gas Gas in the woods.

Says the guy that’s never even owned one. I don’t ride a Suzuki but I down voted you because you’re childish and your comments are pointless.

Simple, Yamaha still make 2 strokes, a lot of KTM/Husky owners here own them, so naturally they would go Yamaha, so no surprise they lead the poll....if the poll was what 4 stroke would you buy then the poll might be completely different

You haven’t posted a single constructive comment in your entire time here

Yamaha's have a good rep for their SSS suspension and strong motors. Zuke 450s for handling and price. Honda's for build quality and resale, and Kawi's for I don't know, being bright green. They do win a lot of titles.
I guess I would vote Yamaha based on their 250f being such a great all around package.

Because I ride off-road as much as MX and prefer 2-strokes. If I can't have a KTM/Husky, then it's gonna be a YZ125 or YZ250.

I voted Kawasaki, though because I get along really well them and I MIGHT try to convert a KX250F to off-road but... no... I'd probably just go buy a YZ250X and be done with it.

GasGas looks great, too. They're high on the list, too, EXCEPT.... that YZ250X.... Smile

Kinda astonished by all the downvoting and brand hate to what is really just a personal preference inquiry around what riders would choose - for themselves - to replace what appears to be the most popular brand(s) today. Some of the lamer people on Vital need to:
A) Get Laid
Cool Go Ride
C) Drink more
D) All of the above, in that order

I own a Husky simply because I’m old, tired and wanted a 350. It was cheaper than any KTM that I could find at that time and I think it’s cooler than the KTMs. If I were in the market for a new 450 I would save 2-3k and buy a new Zook. At my age and skill level, I’m slow no matter what I ride so I may as well ride the cheap shit and leave money in the bank.

In order 1st choice to 4th
GasGas 300- seem like good bikes, great suspension, decent price

Kx450- best contingency in my series I believe
Yz250- I’m comfy on a 250 smoker, great suspension

Rmz450- inexpensive and great handling
