How would he do? I think he could top five no problem and maybe even get a podium if he wanted to. The young bucks don't have anything for him! :D

I think it would depend on what terms he came back on. For fun or just a one off race, then i think he can run top 10. If he decided to do a full season and put his all into it, then there is no reason why he can't do what guys like Ferry are doing right now.

If he trained hard, and had a lot of seat time. No doubt top five. In his current retired state, chillin, he could still muster a 10th place in a main.

If he was healthy, heck yeah he'd do good in this mix of SX competition! That'd be really wild to bring back MC and Larocco on 2-smokers, if possible.

He could muster a top 10 just on his starts alone. I bet he could do top three in a heat race.

Didn't he try this a few years ago and could barely manage a top 10 then?

Too satisfied, too much to lose, too much to look forward to without it......

He COULD get in shape and whip some guys, but I doubt he would.....

He got a few top 5 finishes including a couple of 4th's behind only RC, Stewart and Reed.

McGrath could get a top ten just by getting off the couch. He would be a podium contender all season with the right preparation. Wins would be a big stretch.

50/50 chance he'd already be injured and sitting out the rest of the season at this point. Or would it be 60/40 going into Houston? Is anyone actually going to be racing in Houston this weekend? DV, Ferry, Reed, Windham, Short are still up and going....anyone else still left that doesn't have injuries, issues or excuses?

MC has been riding a lot. Doing Team Honda's SX testing and now testing for outdoors.

And then he can go home at night and swill beers. Riding and testing are not the same as riding and training to compete. Plus MC's not a kid anymore. He'd have to work his ass off to compete with Reed. I'm thinking he'd rather be bouncing his new baby on his knee.

[quote="kaw rider9":29f25mgb]What about Emig?? Top ten or DNF?[/quote:29f25mgb]
Outdoors Emig top ten maybe top top 5. Indoors I think hed struggle to be top 10.

If MC took it seriously he might get some podiums, but I think its safe to say Ferry Reed and K-Dub are faster then him now

Pretty sure they'd have to readjust his sag a little; prolly change springs to something more akin to those used on Peterbuilts...

MC would be lucky if he qualified straight from the heat race!

Your talking about guys 37&38 years old. Do you really think Larocco Emig or McGrath are going to even contest for the top 5 ? Umm no. In bercy Mac had it handed to him by teenagers. Out of all of them I would say Larocco would do the best but that still would be a struggle to get into the top 10. MaGrath would have to shave of about 50lbs and Emig cant race.
Emig was struggling before he even retired.

I saw Emig ride at Perris last July 4th. He was comparable in speed to Jake Weimer who was also there. Emig on KX450, Weimer on CRF250. Just sayin. Emig can still ride, but SX...doubt he could qualify into the main.
