Fascinating thread. I enjoy an actual professional perspective on the issue. Whether or not it is the actual case, it makes sense.

The rumor (via Matthes) that Kenny and Cooper's WIVES got into it over the incident is a big tell that the bad blood between the two riders runs more than track deep. There's some real, nasty unresolved personal hostility between these camps.

Pay per view fite club boxing match for both Coop/Kenny and their wives?

Well, sounds like they worked on "fear of failure" this week. Yup...

He seemed pretty calm and positive on the podium. Hopefully, he can turn it around these next two races.

After reading your initial post AND being a combat veteran of Afghanistan and Iraq, I can tell you this. I’ve seen it with myself and other teammates. You referred to the 2018 crash with Webb. I think that is only part of it. I think it has to do with the entire body of work with Webb. Webb is married to his ex. Ken called her a hoe and a headache at one time I believe. Webb was able to settle her, Ken could not. The comes the 2018 crash. Ken gets injured and Webb does not. Then you have the .100 of a second win where Webb wins and Ken loses. Then you have the last corner pass in 2020 where again Webb gets him AND injures Roczen’s ankle. Then you have the incident this year where Wilson doesn’t yield to the blue flags and Webb receives yet another gift and Ken loses out again. When Webb is involved with a situation regarding Ken, Ken loses every single time. I don’t care who you are, that will wear on you. Ken just needs to be the one to come out on top in a situation with Webb. THAT and only that will start the process of getting Webb out of his head. Wins where Webb isn’t a factor isn’t going to help. He needs a battle with Webb and come out the victor. Just my perspective.

Now that you mention it, I think McGrath did discuss that in his book "Wide Open".

I would start emotionally preparing Kenny for ending up 2nd in the championship. Then, I'd get some starch and educate Kenny on how Webb likes his shirts to be ironed.
