I’m really happy with how the comeback has gone. He’s proven he can run with the leaders and be in the mix. I know he wants to get on the podium but holding Eli off in the second moto at Budds has to feel good.

The guy comes back after 5 years and is still one of the best out there, meanwhile I take a long weekend off work and come back on Monday struggling to remember how to do my job.

He may not be battling for wins but to me this year only adds to his legacy. So impressive to still have elite speed after that much time away.

It's like he was cryogenically frozen and came back at the exact pace he left off at, just a tick off of the natural progression of the sport.

Even though his career average finish may be going down, to me 2022 is cementing his legacy as an all-timer.

Was so awesome hearing the cheers when he was upfront early. Definitely had some flashbacks seeing he and Roczen battling for the lead those first few laps

I hate Tuesdays for that exact reason.

Where do we sign the petition for him to come back again in 2023?

If he wants to race outdoors again, KTM would be stupid not to sign that check, especially if Webb doesn’t race them next year. A full season to dial in the new bike and shake off the 6 years of cobwebs could only make next year be even better.

He will be back. Got to let that boy boogie woogie, cause it’s in him, and it’s got to come out

Nothing against RD but he’s 6th in points and nearly 150 points behind the riders in P1 and P2. 67 points behind P3.

What a strange statement to say the sport is regressing. Grinning

Dungey deserves all the credit, he’s one of the best that’s ever done it. Don’t say the rest of the racers are slow and that’s why he’s finishing where he is.

I don’t understand your argument. If you think the sport is regressing because one of the all time greats is 6th in points then that’s just objectively wrong.

If I'm Dungey....
- I'm feeling a lot less pressure than before I retired and am enjoying every race
- I can see what burnout, injuries, and riding injured has done to the rest of the guys still racing since my retirement
- I'm glad I had some "me" time in my retirement, but (maybe) I found my purpose other than being a dad - it's racing a dirt bike.

I really hope he races again in 2023. If he goes the whole 9 yards at Bakers factory, he legitimately could be a top 3 guy week in/week out with Tomac likely retiring.
