We need a few riders to claim a bike from each top team/brand and see how they each handle it.

Grab a PC Kawi from Boespflug
Grab a Star Yamaha from whoever their A or B rider is
If Honda decides to put someone in Hymas’ spot, claim that bike
Grab a BarX Suzuki
Grab an Brigade KTM, Husky or GasGas, hell one of each for that matter.

At that point we will see just how every team/brand reacts and we can see exactly who the straight shooters are and exactly who we should be supporting. Maybe it will bring a rule change, maybe the teams will pull out and not have nearly the factory type support for amateurs, or maybe we see more of a level playing field. Maybe it changes nothing, but I’d love to see exactly how each team/brand would handle it.

What you do is have some vet rider with basically no sponsors claim the bike. Has no ambition to go pro and no dealership to act out against so he doesn’t give a god damn lol

Orrrrrrrrr . . . it could be a YouTuber that barely makes it in and FILMS THE WHOLE FUGGING THING.
Team managers melting down, piles of cash, extortion, mini dads loosing their shit.

Kids YouTube channel would go through the roof.

No they proved a naive 17 year old who is sponsored by a Yamaha dealer can’t claim a Yamaha. I have no sponsors and no one is going to strong arm my stubborn ass lol

I’m all for that.

I’m very much on the side that there really shouldn’t be Factory Amateur riders. Some type of help with bikes and a parts allowance or something I’m fine with and see being fair enough, but full factory style rides for a 7 or 8 year old on a 65 is pretty outrageous. Our entire amateur scene is really messed up and something needs to change, in my opinion.

We could start a donation "go fund me" movement for mid-pack-rear of the pack riders in those faster classes and give them the money to claim the bikes. We can keep it low-key until next years event.
That way we don't discourage them from running high-end stuff that they potentially are going to lose from our brilliant secret idea.
You should have expected us! Smile

Sure you can. Just make sure your dad is by your side and doesnt let you fend for yourself when things start getting dicey.

And when getting your bikes from a dealer, pay cash in full so you arent beholden to whatever politics they may have to face. Sponsorships come with strings attached.

If you went away from mod classes you would kill off half the company’s in this sport no more fmf ,procircuit or any of those big aftermarket company’s. I don’t think that’s good for the sport

You’re right from how the current business works, but aftermarket companies would be already looking at diversification strategies with the rise of electric. (Long live combustion tho 😜)

The AMA can't even create an impound area for one bike how the hell would they do it three or four. It still amazes me the biggest amateur race in the world doesn't have a predetermined impound area. That impound area should be in place before a rider ever hits the track and it wasn't. The AMA allowed that bike to be impounded in Cotters trailer, boy I would sure trust him.

Edit: The impound area also serves as the teardown area for protests.

What if I provide the $17K in cash to claim one of these said bikes and I don't compete in the class however I would offer $1K in cash to a rider in the class to claim the bike for me.

I give the rider $18K in cash, he or she pays the $17K claims the bike and gives it to me then keeps the remaining $1K in cash.

Any takers?

I've said it for years and always get flamed, but LL's is nothing more than a big money grab controlled by a bunch of "good ol boys" who really don't give a shit about the sport other than making your wallet lighter. What happened with the bike claim is solid proof of that. Had some no name's bike been claimed Tim Cotter and others wouldn't have give two shits. But when it's douchebag Deegan's kids total different story.
