Yesterday I was thinking: A lot of young riders are dreaming about riding in California, others are dreaming about riding in New Zealand, Australia or at the Belgian and Dutch sand tracks. But for most of them it is pretty hard to organize all of that.

So what could make things more easier I asked myself. "Guest families, who can provide the kids a place to sleep, something to eat, a place to store their bike and help to get at the local tracks".

Guest families could help riders from Europe to spend their winter in California or in New Zealand/Australia where the weather is better. Semi-Pro riders from countries like Belgium and Netherlands could have some time on hard pack tracks, others could choose to go to Florida?

The only question is: If there would be such a platform where you could ask for a guest family or you could offer yourself to be a guest family, would the moto-community use this?

Sounds like a cool idea. I would be all for it but my fear would be liability and lawsuit if the rider got hurt while staying with me. Sad but that’s the world, or at least America, we live in.

So like foreign exchange students but for moto? Seems like it could be a good idea. Probably needs to be some way to do background checks and what not.

I like it however when MXdN was at Red Bud discovered my almost 13 year old now has a liking for Euro women. If he goes over there not sure he would come back.

More like an exchange racer program. Awesome idea to try and work around drawbacks

Or something like AirBNMoto - I've got a room for a promising EU energy drink girl who might want to try the US

This happens a lot already, you just have to make it happen. We had a load of US Supermoto guys over here in 2002/2003 and i got to race AMA in 2003 off the back of it. Raced Unadilla this year the same way. .

This would be so awesome. I went to a Hawaii in 9th grade for a week with all expenses paid, my parents had to make me go because I wanted to stay home and ride. This would have been my dream vacation even if I ended up with a family of goons Riding mopeds located in BFE But my mind went right where yours did. A few Lawsuits would destroy it for everyone, tracks would get shut down and hurt us in the long run.

Similarly I always wished there was a riding club/class in grade school. Back in jr high I thought about it a lot and could see so many positive things that could come from it and I’d been much more enthusiastic about school myself.
