I'd be sick for Osborne to ride a 125 this weekend!

I'm just dreaming! But I would be very interested to see how well he could do on one, because at this point, he has nothing to lose!

Should be a 250, just a stock motor though.

Why not?

According to the rules a 125 is equal to a 250F. If he did race one, I would expect him to do just as well on it. Whistling

He could top ten on one for sure. I think at his advanced age riding the 450 class would be a more prudent career decision. If Bogle can win last week, why not Zach? Not like he lacks experience lol. Like brogle famously said pre winning: what better time to go for broke?

Aldons minions don't do stuff like that. It's too dangerous and doesn't produce championships

If ever we had a chance for this to happen, this is it.

The bike is AMA national race ready thanks to Steinke Dog.

I doubt he will do it but it would be awesome to see.

Suzuki built an RM250 for KR to race at last race in IN a few years ago but the AMA wouldn't let him race it. What a brilliant marketing strategy for the nationals...don't let someone do something that 80% of the fans would love. BRILLIANT!

I'd also volunteer to forfeit $50k just for nostalgia. The only way this would happen is if Husky agreed to pay him a certain amount of his bonus structure and the only way that will happen is if Husky thinks they are going to sell enough 125s to cover that cost.

I see nothing but downside for him jumping on a 450. He's won both championships this year and is staying down to defend them. Imagine if Webb moved up at the last round last season and put in whatever his average finish has been this year. I'd put money on it that his contract wouldn't have been as lucrative. Hype and potential pay $$$$. Anything outside of a podium would hurt his cause and I don't like the odds of him beating the 3, 4, or 25 straight up after a week on a new bike.

This would be cool! Or if the manufactures would let husky run something Batt powered.

Talking logic and common sense to the Two Stroke Talaban is like pissing in the wind here...

You do realize that the AMA was just enforcing the rules around eligible years to compete? That team knew the rules and I would guess had the expectation it wouldn't actually race.

There's so much wrong in this thread.

Zach said that if the title was wrapped up and IF he was riding a 450 at the MXoN, he'd have jumped up a class. Since he's on the MX2 bike there, he'll be on his usual bike in his usual class.

Also, in '18 he'll defend the SX title, but will be on a 450 for outdoors.

That would be so killer (if the rules weren't warped). A bone stock 250 2stroke with suspension setup for him.

Yea, knowing the rules might be a good idea before ya complain.

Some of you old geezers might remember the last National of the year in 1985. Washougal. (there's other examples too). Lechien and Glover had already clinched their respective championships, but O'Mara and Ward were still close in 250. Lechien moved up to 250 and Bailey dropped down to help O'Mara out. Ward had a solid ride and won the Championship, but there were a couple first time (and only...I think) National winners that day. A.J. Whiting(125) and Eric Eaton(500).

I think marketing wise it would actually sell more husky and ktm than just riding the 250. (So the bonus should be the average of the great season he had). All eyes would be on him.

I don't disagree with you about the return on investment for Husky nor am I saying it's a bad idea. I'm simply saying that those two things would have to happen before Zach or Husky even sniff at doing something like this. The OP said at this point, Zach has nothing to lose. I disagree with that.

He does lose out on a possible win or podium bonus. Ride a 125 for free...or race your 250F and have a shot at 30-50K.
