Racing started today.

USA currently in second behind defending champs Australia. The General, Ryan Sipes, finished second overall on the day (yeah, the flat track guy who finished 8th at the Nashville SX). Australia leads by about 19 seconds over USA, who's about 2 minutes ahead of Italy in 3rd.

The US is also second in the Junior Worlds class as well as the women's class, with the women only about 5 seconds behind Germany.

Amazing the French are nowhere to be found after being so dominant for years. Love this event!

Is Kailub Russell 100% healthy? I thought he was injured at the end of the gncc series or stepped out to heal up something.

All of the old generation retired, and the current one is really not that fast...
No winning threat anytime soon...

Love me some ISDE and it makes me so happy we are contenders year in and year out now.

The lifes work and legacy of Kurt Caselli lives on through the effort the US Six Days team has become.

3 riders in the top 5, hell of a start!

Ryan Sipes might possibly be the most badass dude on the planet. It's mind boggling to think how good he is on a dirt bike.

Oh yea, kick ass Team USA!

I got second overall behind Luke Styke at the 2009 Nowra King of the Bush Enduro Series.

Safe to say his riding has eclipsed mine...

Go Aussies!!

I think part of it too is a shifting focus to hard enduro in Europe, and the fact the ISDEs have been quite fast paced in the last few years.

FIM 1st Day coverage (note, Johnny Depp here is reported to be on suicide watch...... due to a Broken Arm and a Beta - did, or did it not, have a functioning Counter Balancer?) :

https://youtu.be/B6NKJlYnUYw

And, the pre-event show (with a certain Beta rider with both wings still intact) :

Actually, a hell of a bummer for the Brits - they've so many fast riders, it seems strange they haven't swept the 6 Days.

The French Federations Day 1 video - DVs' Sister (well, I'm going with that) doing commentary - not that I understand a bloody word that she's saying :

The Japanese :

There are so many YouTube videos of each day - I'm all stocked up with munchies and 'beverages', for my own version of the Six Days - I'm nursing 2 blown out (for the bazzillionth time) knees after being a bit foolish last weekend.

The Italian Federations videos are always good, but they tend to be a bit behind others, as they go hard on the Pasta and Vino - as I will be doing, too!

The Aussies come off as hard as nails in the interviews I’ve seen. I think they give themselves blisters on purpose, just because they like the pain.

They are killing it this year!

I followed this young blokes Six Day effort, through his Dad's blog / videos, the last time he did it - in 2014.

He, his Dad and Family are there this year, doing a good job with videos. There's 4 others previous to this day one, covering preparation etc.
Josh and his family race my local series here (his two brothers and his dad are all fast Expert/A riders). Their family is as nice and genuine as they come. Great people. And doing a great job covering the race.

Hard as Nails?

More like, Life Happy Bogans!

That's how most of us are in the Motorcycle community (I hope) ....... better than being Grizzle Guts Grumps, like so many 'normal' people seem to be.

PS :
Like so many OZ words, 'Bogan', can, and is, used in both a derogatory, and, complimentary / fond way. We're a weird mob, we Aussies. In this case, I use it in the 'fond' way.

Anyone know why there hasn’t been an ISDE in America? AMA not interested? To many Tree Huggers? Some other reason?

There's been two in the US, that I know of.

The first, in 1973(?)

The last one, in Tulsa, broke the camels back, so to speak. Problems with insurance liabilty for spectators, being just one, so virtually no access to the public. Which was bizarre, as it was held entirely on the John Zink ranch, of over 30,000 acres, with the intent of that being to avoid land access and insurance issues, I think. You can find a video of the event on You Tube - ISDE1994 Tulsa USA International Six Days Trial - by the way.

I do hope it gets to the US again, but , it may well be impossible. So many obstacles, including the 2 you mentioned, Titan1, from what I read.
