Edited Date/Time 5/15/2018 7:21am
Hey I wondering if any of you could help, I had a tadoo with some glass last year causing me to sever my muscle tendon and artery in my forearm almost loosing my life but when I ride now I’m getting arm pum bad in that arm as expected but getting pain from bouncing about wondering if anyone knows of any supports or anything like that as I go to Spain riding for my stag in June and don’t want to ruin it. Any advice is appreciated thankyou in advance I have added a photo of scar so you can get an idea.

Not sure if I should have it pressed up against where the muscle was severed as it was stitched back together?

As with any traumatic injury, consult a doctor. Preferably a sports doc who understands that you ride and it is not your plan to simply "stop riding because those things are dangerous."

Well ill just leave this here. Good friend of mine that coaches the Australian Olympic sailing team recommended it . After dealing with some knee issues I ran them and , yes, they do help.

I still get arm pump really bad regardless of how often I do that...
Extra potassium, weight loss, pointing my toes in, and no longer getting drunk every night did help.

Now we know who the experienced guys are in here... Blink

This seems like a question better suited for your doc, but...in my experience (from a leg surgery) it took a year or two before the soft tissue stuff was back to normal.

find a physical therapist who practices Gua Sha and dry needling. Both will help tremendously with arm pump. Dry needling especially.

And on the flip side compression sleeve could slow down the perfusion to the area...makin the arm pump worse....especially if that forearm is gettin swoll. Are you slightly exaggerating the part about “loosing”your life ? Yea...arm artery can be bad I guess.....but how many units of blood did you loose? How many did you get in the hospital ?

Doesn’t look too bad, do you work out ? Ever seen roczens arm?
