That is fucking ridiculous. This is why I don't race very much anymore. Too many fucking classes. A, B, and C class in stock and modified? In 250 and 450? Oy vey....Run what ya brung in each of those classes, for starters. Who even needs a modified 450 for crying our loud??? Maybe something to make it more rideable perhaps...

Dude! WTF?

Why in the hell do we need that many classes? Screw it let's just do one gate drop and give every rider a trophy!

If you travel 1,000 + miles with your family to get to a race you will generally want to have as many classes to pick from as you can.
So it may seem ridiculous to some just seeing the list but getting 4 classes to choose from on the race entry looks good for others.

That extended structure has grown out of having Am events where you have thousands of entries.

I'm for more division....48-49 blonde hair male born in Pennsylvania, moved to California, then to Colorado, and now owns three two-stroke motorcycles, first name starts with a J, last with a T, and has one 16 year old male son who is studying to be a trauma surgeon. I think I can win that race, or at least place top 20.

I usually raced three classes, but only because their were 20 classes total, and if I wanted any meaningful track time, I had to ride several times.

-10minute motos are for pussies! Fewer classes, longer motos would be better and more cost-effective IMO.

These races are a week long, if you race one or two classes you may sit at the motorhome for a day or longer before your next moto, plus more chances to impress.

That is just plain silly. I get that people want more track time after they travel but give me a break! We don't need all that crap! I get tired of sitting through the 50 cc quad class then the 50 cc girl quad class, JESUS CHRIST does everyone want to win so bad they have to have a bullshit class just to be competitive?

most of our tracks around here have seperate 50 tracks, which is great. Frozen Ocean now has a seperate quad track, and so does Air MX.

Depending on what district we ride for the day, there could be 30 classes with us leaving by 5. WNYMA runs their schedules like a finely tuned military machine, D3 is a bit slower for some tracks due to everyone wanting to get their hands in the pot.

Lol out in Az we don't have quad classes thank god. Those guys tend to stick with desert racing out here.

It's a week long race.... Not a local race that only runs one day.

Any of you been to an AM national or no?

Nope, you got me!

I have been racing for 35years and have never managed to take an entire week off to race a couple of 6 lap motos.

Serious questions here;
What is the difference between Schoolboy 1 & 2?
What is the difference between A & A/Pro sport?

Schoolboy 1 is 125cc two strokes, and 150cc/85cc big wheels.

Schoolboy 2 allows 250F's

It is the same way for AMA events.

what scares people when they look at the classes is , are they gonna drive 1000 miles and get three lap motos?Yes donnie cakes i realize im old, but i would rather see how long the motos are, and i would sign up for a class with some actual ridding tiime, its not about the 5 dollar peice of plastic at the end of the day, its more ridding a different track, if i was gonna get two 20+ motos and fininsh in the back , then get a 3 lapper with 4 guys my age i dont want to drive 1000 miles, i would pay more for the longer moto also, if it were garenteed to be the advertised length With what gas costs and what its predicted to cost i want something for my money

Absolutely and the best thing is now there are places that some folks can chase their dreams and others can get out and ride.
The promotor of an event like that knows that most of the field is travelling.

I think we have more options now as far as org's go so that some can have the long moto few classes structure while others go with a wider field.

There is more around for the Off-Road / Enduro style racing now too which is great.
