I already have a hand full of tuff blocks but need to get quite a few more. The cheap bastard in me really has a hard time laying down $100 a brick for these babies. They seem to be just big blocks of soft foam but trying to find them from a non moto source for less hasn't worked out ether. Anyone else tackled this?

Could you find hay bale covers? I'm sure hay is much cheaper.

That closed cell foam is damned expensive. Go price out a 1 x 1 foot square block of foam at a fabric shop and you'll see what I mean. Most foam pits for practice jumping have around $30,000 in foam bocks.

If you can find an industrial shipping company in your area you can get closed cell foam. It might be cheaper.

Make your own! just get some 2 n 1 foam, get a cardboard box that is the size you want and line it with plastic and fill it up, presto! a home made jobber lol

I used that stuff to make padding inside my Pilot where my legs go, formed it right to them.

We also made floating pool chairs by filling a big plastic garbage bag, then sit it in while it is setting up and it molds right to ya, that shit is so much fun to mess with.

How much are the "semi-tough" blocks?

The company that built them for the X games is quoting $85 - 90 a block. Might have to brake down and buy them.

I think I once saw a video where Pastrana said it was $1 per cubic foot for the foam pit.

I'd buy a used couch cushions from a thrift store before paying $100 for a real pretty one.

I could send you a 4ft. x 8ft. pallet 4-5 foot high of closed cell sponge rubber sheets ( assorted thickness and densities ) for free. Just have to pay the freight from PhxAz.
