Thanks!
Same Congrat's from me too. That is freakin sweet and cool as hell. And hopefully you get some time to go do some riding.

My brother in law Nick works in the tooling department there. I live a few minutes from milestone but i will ride anywhere around here hit me up. I try to ride once a week.
My first interview was with tooling, after the interview they said I was a perfect fit for machining, had the interview on Wednesday and got a call back Thursday morning saying I got the job! Who know maybe I’ll get to meet your brother in law?

I will definitely be in contact once I get there!

Moved out here about a year ago. Living the moto dream amongst other things. Rode most of the Socal tracks atleast once and hit Milestone and Pala quite often. Low and behold 6 months in found myself broken, nothing crazy but bizzar accident. Hope to make it back on a bike, so maybe I’ll see you around. You are gonna love it here albeit there is a price to pay for the “spoils” as others have mentioned.
Hopefully you heal up before I have to head back to school.

I feel like I’m going to fall in love with the SoCal living real quick.

Congrats on the opportunity.
A friend of mine moved out there 2 years ago.
He forgot his pants and jerseys. Rode in jeans and a long sleeve tye dye shirt for a little while. He was doing beard competitions too. I imagine it was funny at Glen Helen and Milestone to see a huge 20 inch beard hanging out of a moto helmet attached to tye dye and jeans. I'm sure you can meet some of the best and craziest people at the track. I know I have.
You gotta do what you gotta do. If I left my gear behind I wouldn’t miss out on the chance to ride at some of the SoCal tracks, I’d be on rails in a tye dye shirt. Lol.

I’ve seen where some SpaceX interns work 80 hours a week, but hopefully that’s 80 hours Monday-Friday so I can go ride on the weekends.

Congrats, just curious if you looked at internship at Solar Turbines in San Diego? We have mfg engineer interns and often have ones that do time here and at SpaceX, Tesla, Apple, etc.

Elon Musk’s way of showing he is serious about putting a man on mars. It’s “symbolic” ?

I know of a good apartment in Torrance if you're looking for a place to stay. It's right off the 110 and Carson. There is a bar called Crest within walking distance.

You might want to make time for Mesquite MX in Mesquite Nevada. Theyre open every day of the week although they only prep on the weekends but its only a few minutes off I-15 which i assume you'll be taking down into Socal unless your taking the I40 route across the plains.

Fun track with some big uphills and downhills depending on how its configured.

I’m off work for a few weeks. I’m heading to Zaca Station on Wednesday. If you can make the drive, you will not regret it... if so, hit me up and I’ll get you on the gate list. ~ Shaun

Half way through my internship now. So far I’ve had a chance to ride at Glen Helen, Milestone, Pala, LACR, Lake Elsinore, And Perris. Still a few more places I’d like to ride. Anyone want to hit up some sand dunes? I brought a paddle tire with me!

It’s been awesome, I’m working with a really good group of guys and learning a lot. Being able to Moto is just a plus.

I’ll look him up today. I saw someone walking around the other day with a factory Honda shirt and hat. I was wonder if it was who GuyB was talking about.
