Guy is coming to get my 450 today. I haven't rode it since March. I was going to get a 250 2-stroke just to keep around. I liked the last KX250 that I had and I really like the feel of the Suzukis.

Been watchin the classified for a few months, used to be maybe 10
smokers, all under 2500, every week.

Last week there was a 500cr, 2500 and a 125 YZ , for 2 grand.

2005 thru 2007 RM250

Ask anyone who owns one; best smoker they ever rode.

Agreed. I sold my RMZ450 and switched back to a 2006 RM250 and never looked back.

Agreed, it's a pity 4 strokes dominated because so few people got to enjoy the greatness of that bike.

The 06+ YZ's are probably on the top of the best smoker made list. Of course, I'm biased.

I'm in the same boat. Trying to off my 07 450 for an 07ish YZ 250. Lookin forward to the two stroke.

For sure those YZs are very very good also. You cant go wrong with a >=2005 250cc smoker in any color.

I was thinking of selling my RM250...but I think I'll keep it until I really need the cash, which will probably only be when I'm ready to nut-up and buy a second CR500AF for my stable. Last night was working on the 500...put new tranny oil in it, had to deflate the tire and spin it on the rim, lubed the clutch cable, and that's it. She's good for another 40 hours, except for new sneakers (coming the end of the week) and the air filter cleanings. I love these smokers. End of the year I'll put a new set of rings and a piston in it, just to freshen her up.

Curious, what was the shortcoming of the '04? I've got one, and although I hardly ride it at all anymore (the 500 gets all of my seat time), I can't recall anything except some head shake at high speed as anything bad about the '04.

I want to know why you YZ250 lovers say 06 and up. Was the 05 really worse?

06 and up have SSS suspension. Good stuff. I have been keeping my eye peeled for an 06 or newer yz 125 for my daughter.

Why would you want a late model Honda? Of all brands thats the one I cant figure out. why get a 2007 thats really a 2003? While all other brands updated they just did BNG,

BNG drops your lap times, or so I've heard.

I am looking for 03 and up. I have seen some greart deals on ebay and CL. The newer bikes are just that. Newer. This will be built almost to the hilt. The Honda was down on power but always got the top marks for handleing. I know a couple guys who know how to get them to make power.
