Got a new stable mate for my 150.....

Just picked up this crazy clean 13 250sx for $3k from my buddy's shop after a kid got scared on it and trader for a SxS lol
Weeping fork seal and wasted stock chain.

Looks like a 1970 Challenger. Many years ago, I had one with a 440 six pack, 4 speed, and Dana 60 with 4.10 rear gears. Neat cars.
BTW, nice score on the bike.

This is my first 250 2t since '01. Been all 450 from then until '14 with the 150sx. I cant believe how manageable this 250 motor is. They used to want to kill me, this thing just wants to lunge forward without drama.

I have a 2014 250sx that I've had since new. I really think that the 2013-2014 ktm 250sx is one of the most overlooked used bikes out there. Power, weight, durability all been top notch. Also the CC forks may not be the best but they are far and away easier and cheaper to make really really good. My buddy and I both have the same bike and won't get rid of them. Congrats on the score

Red spring in the power valve, couple turns in from flush.
38mm PWK Carb (Not sure what the better setup is on the 150, but you might could swap carbs, it has a 38mm)
Suzuki NECJ Needle
42 Pilot
170-175 Main

Deck head to around a .045 squish and run 50/50 110/91 octane @ 40-1

Then watch out.

Performance wise, I think the bills pipe and silencer works well, but the silencers just don't hold up. The FMF on the other hand is near bullet proof.

That bike should have Vforce 4 Reeds. A DT1 filter cage is better than stock, stock can shake loose. If the bike begins to not shift under load, there is a some what quick fix for that using a round file on the shifter claw.

PM if you have question, have put a lot of time on that bike with riding and testing.

Nice find! I just sold mine and have to say it was the best 250 smoker I ever owned.

Try the JBI pro-perch in the forks. Its a pretty cheap and very easy to do upgrade.

Very good deal there. I paid 5k for my 2014 almost 2 years ago. I agree with what others have said. The 13-14 250sx is a really really good bike. Probably my favorite 250 smoker of all time and I've owned damn near every brand.
