Who would have thought a rider would leave team Yamaha and go to team Austria and start winning?

I’m rooting for Kenny but I’m not betting against him. Justin has it in him...

Malcolm, AC, Barcia and Roczen put down some solid riding tonight.

For such a dull track, I was loving it. We’re in for a great season, ladies and gents.

Barcia, the team, the brand (or brands: GasGas, TLD, Red Bull)...it’s a good “alignment’ & he seems to be enjoying it.

I’m thinking he’s got more wins in him this year.

The last pulpmx show, listen to the interview with AP7. He goes over how different the Factory vs Star 450.

Barcia and the lighter bike just looks better. Fits his riding style imo.

Also lighter, and make the bike turn.

Had Roczen and Barcia picked for podium, only problem is I also had Eli. Nice ride for sure, I just want more close racing no matter who wins and Roczen kept it close.

This win looked like a more polished Barcia to me. Him and Kenny were pushing an incredible pace lap after lap, both of them nearly flawless. These two guys appear to be on it. Fortunately we don’t have to wait long for the next race.

Barcia looked smoother, a bit quieter on the bike. It’s a tough comparison riding with Kenny all night, but he looked relaxed.

Which rider won the last three openers more like it. Barcia excels with traction or mud. But on the yamaha he struggled with hard pack tracks. Salt lake didn't go well. Was it him and his happy throttle hand? Was it the yamaha torque? or Was it the factory chassis being so "ridged" as AP7 commented on?

I believe it was all of those. While testing in California, the first thing he noted with the new GAS GAS was, traction. I think we see him win more than one race this year. He was 3rd in points heading into daytona last year and came out 4th by 2 points when the series finished out in Salt Lake.

I’m a bit skeptical about Barcia. I’m not rooting against him, I just want to see those consistent podium finishes. Whatever magic he brings to the opening rounds, I’d like to see in every round.

Barcia never seemed happy at Yamaha. He looks happy now.

Mookie finally has that factory ride he’s been gunning for...and the Yamaha seems to work for bigger guys.

Both situations sound highly motivational to me.

The 250f yammy is a monster but no one has ever looked great on the 450, even James looked like a completely different rider on it.

As soon as barcia went to yammy it was the same thing he was trying to fight it, where as the GasGas he looked as clean as he did on his Honda.

It's a shame because Barcia had one of the promising talent in the 250 class one of the best ever imo, I really think his move to yammy really hindered him.

Star is going to allow the riders to make more changes than Factory Yamaha. Suspension is going to be the biggest change for sure at Star.

There's an old vid of Barcia back in his amateur days, he was riding a CR 125, and literally was having his way with that bike. He was relaxed, whipping it any way he wanted, in complete control with no pressure. I have not seen him that relaxed anywhere in his pro career until last Saturday. He really looks to be quite comfy on the Gasser..... could be his turn if he keeps this going.
