Likely they are extremely low revving things. I think that re-branded "Maico" outfit that was selling those 700/1000cc engines produced their peak power around 3500 rpm. Think tractor engines.
The Shop
Just a big Maico motor, go look at a 83 Maico 490 & you'll see the resemblance.
Don't know who developed that motor Maico or Zabel? But the 700cc is a low revving torque motor, I heard from a friend that the 620 would rev out & pull like hell! he said that it was too much for a MX track!
Only 6 or 8 were built If If remember right & it used a Porsche piston! They also build some 504's -508's don't know much about them.
He did a great story on it in only a way SH could. Wish I could find that issue in my stacks of old mags.
