Going to be held in the ga dome for first time ever the day before sx. Wonder if going to be same track design or not. I need to look it up. Should be cool.
Pretty big deal. By the way ga dome is done. Last time and it's coming down.

This is a neat idea. Get the arena cross guys racing friday night. They get used to dirt and loosen up. Great idea!

It's a big moto weekend they are promoting for the closing of the dome.

Its going to be run on about 60% of the supercross layout. Arena cross riders won't be elegible to race Supercross the next night according to the AMA. Next year will be interesting with riders moving around, as the AX series will prelude AMA Supercross for atleast 7 rounds the night before in the same track.

Nope. AMA won't allow anyone to race both AX and SX.

Yep can't race ax Friday and sx Saturday. One or the other. They say it's unfair track time. Kinda BS since a select few ride parts of the track for press day each week. Really ruined some cool storylines for that weekend in my opinion.

Here is the promotion for it. That is awesome that next year arena cross will be on some of the same venues. The tracks are way too small now so that's a big move. Can't wait to watch on TV. I find the current tracks extremely boring.

So they're trying to do the NASCAR formula. Either AX is going to get cheaper or SX is going up.

this isnt too bad of an idea actually.

IF feld is wanting to turn AX into the stepping stone, AX in its current form isnt similar enough, so running it on the same track would help.

Or perhaps they turn SX into a two day event with an amateur day

Yes. Dumb move in my opinion. Maybe one race a year, but to have 6 or 7, what's the point? Might as well just get rid of it if it can't run on it's own. The best part about AX is that it goes where SX doesn't.

so now they don't want to be like nascar and let the big boys race the day before, or let the arena guys race next day. gotcha
How many times did kyle busch race the day before?

I think it's very cool that they hold this kind of weekends, I think this has a lot more potential than what they are willing to admit, If they could have those weekends 4 times for example would be awesome for the viewers and for the AX riders that at least get a feel for the stadium size and how those tracks are made

That first/second turn start section might get a little hairy. Should be a good race

I love this. I mean it's more racing for the fans so how can you hate it. The arena cross tracks now are just pathetic. 1 double. 1 whoop section and 1 rhythm. Plus now they can utilize the track already built. I just am so excited about it. Different group of riders and if they really do want to use as a true stepping stone then this is best way to do it.

Pathetic now days? What? Did you start watching AX last year? It's been the same 2-3 variations since Mike Kidd made it what it is in the 90's. Arena. Means small. It is what it is and always has been.
