Yes, I know he just had the fastest times in practice at Red Bud. I’m wondering how he and his aggressive style would do on a 350 instead of the 450.

Thoughts?

So you think he’d get smoked. Fair enough.

I think he can handle the 450 pretty well. What's the point of giving all your opponents the power advantage?
Especially since 450's can be mapped for whatever power delivery preferences he might have.
Cairoli rode 350 for some time, later on switched to 450 and admitted, that 450 got more R&D and became a way faster/better bike.

I would love to see him or someone else try. I think its more competitive than most expect. Its easy for those guys to over ride a 450 which is why some are much better on the 250 (Webb)

Exactly the same as he is now. Nothing wrong with the bike.

KTM used Tony Cairoli to desigh the 350...and he switched to a 450.

Considering Justin Cooper’s time would have qualified him 3rd in the 450 class @ Tennessee I’m guessing about the same. Rider>Bike

I believe, for the KTM 350 as an MX race machine, development has pretty much come to an end. It's not a priority anymore. Nevertheless, I have been a proponent of seeing Baggett on a 350 pretty much since he moved up to the premier class. He was so fast on a 250, he could have stayed on the small bike in the 450 class and still have been in the hunt.

I took a look through the 2012 RedBud laptimes, where Baggett went 1-1 in the 250s and Dungey did the same in the 450s.

Dungey
Best Lap
Moto 1 - 2:05.556
Moto 2 - 2:07.882

Average Lap
Moto 1 - 2:09.004
Moto 2 - 2:11.156

Bagget
Best Lap
Moto 1 - 2:07.705
Moto 2 - 2:07.588

Average Lap
Moto 1 - 2:10.443
Moto 2 - 2:10.440

In terms of times, Bagget on a 250 was second fastest for the day behind Dungey on 450. Give him a 350 and I believe he could hang it out more (as his style tends to be anyway) and relieve some of the unforgiving power of the 450. Probably will never happen, but I do think he would be a faster outdoor rider if he had less horsepower to deal with.
