Follow these simple steps.
1. Sell your four stroke
2. Walk into a KTM, Husky, or Yamaha dealer.
3. Buy two stroke.
4. Buy parts for two stroke
5. Never buy another four stroke again.
If KTM's sales skyrocket on smokers- tell me the other brands wouldn't follow suit? They already do. The dollar drives the direction of the market. You can't sit here on the internet professing your love for smokers, then go buy a new Honda 450 but hope they will make smokers again. Simple logic

I would never ever pay that price for a bike that hasn't had any R&D work on it for 11 years. R&D is a huge part of the cost for a OEM = higher or lower price of a product.
With that said, 2 strokes in pro racing are gone. And who cares? The big part of the "sport" in my opinion is at the local tracks and we who ride. Want to see fast kids on 2 strokes, buy the MXGP-TV package and watch the EMX125 class. Awesome racing.
The Shop
Currently running 250 and 500 2 strokes.
I would put a deposit down on an updated RM250 with spring forks asap if it ever becomes available.
Pit Row
The OEMs have a hard time selling bikes as it is compared to 15 years ago. Maybe a slight percentage of that is four stroke related, maybe it's just the way the world has trended towards us being an undesirable niche. I see electric coming before a two stroke resurgence.
If I were buying a new 250 smoker this year, the decision would have been harder.
This is not a 2 vs. 4 thread. I just wanted to say out loud how many people on here talk about wanting a two stroke resurgence but continuously buy four strokes.
As for the argument of "two strokes aren't for everyone". Funny, because they were in the golden days of riding and racing when it was your only option. The Japanese hoodwinked you cats while they were caught up in an engine performance pissing match.
