Looking to buy my first bike. By the look of some dealership sites, looks like 2018s should be in stock soon. What's the best way to go about finding a deal on a leftover 2017? I don't have a local dealer as I just moved and am about to soon. I contact a few through their sites that show stock, but have gotten no reply from all but one, who said they didn't actually have any.
And I guess I should ask—what can I expect to save by going with a new, year old model? The sites that listed 2016s AND 2017s only showed a $100 difference between the two which seemed odd.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The Shop
I believe the kx250f is $5700 otd
The suzuis have been $7490 and $8490 for a while
Also this week the crf250 is $ 7490.
Kxf are $9990 and $8990
Ktm are still through the roof at $12990 and $11990.
Im up for a new bike soon and If i was to buy a 17 (450sxf) model right now, i certainly wouldn't want to pay more than 10500 for it. For some reason I'm tempted to buy a rmz250 for 7500. I know it sounds crazy but you don't see many them around anymore and nearly everyone owns a ktm now.
Pit Row
Byrners Suzuki Seaford.

Or click Dealer Search from the 2017 YZ250F page.
For the OP: I would buy out of state as well to avoid taxes. Just make sure you get the Certificate of Origin (MSO or MCO).
Only one response thus far at $6899 OTD. Doesn't seem terrible, but hoping for a little better.
